Does anyone know the best way to get a new set of gaffed cards for Gerry Griffin's Queens Out of Control, without laying down full price for the whole DVD shebang? I use it as a finale trick, and my oh my it KILLS. But...my original set are pretty much toast, i.e., they stick too much during the Elmsley. Is there a specialty company that makes 'em?
Thanks.

Another option is to buy Sympathetic Cards. Queens Out Of Control is a different handling of that effect, using only Elmsley Counts. The cards supplied with Sympathetic Cards are Hoyle shell backs, and are Jokers and Aces of Diamonds (not Queens).
The effect can be gotten for less than ten bucks, and you'll get the original handling by Magic Ronnay. |

Thanks for a great idea, Dan. However, it seems that the Sympathetic Cards is hard to find as it no longer is carried by some of the major magic dealers online...

Hi Guys
I agree that this is a fantastic effect. So maybe I can offer you a solution as I too want replacement cards. I have done a search and found that you can order a pack of 10 sticky labels of the back design of Bicycle decks (Each label is a different colour) They are made to fit onto a standard Bike Poker Deck and cost £5/$10 for a sheet of 10 labels, so you can make up your own set. I am going to order a set after the Easter Weekend and will post here to let you know what they are like in terms of quality, look and feel. All The Best |

Truesoldier, I have heard various opinions from good to bad for the feel of these stickers. They are vinyl from what I understand. It would seem that doing the EC with these would be difficult.
I would be interested in knowing what you think about these. Please post back on your review of the stickers. thanks edh

And then, independent of the sticker pros and cons, there's the question of the wild card side of three of those cards....

Robert, no need to apologize. I was just confused and thought we were talking about a different variation of QOOC.

Hi EDH:
QOOC uses three (red-backed) cards that actually say "Wild" on them and feature a jaunty little man dressed like Fool from King Lear. If you can suggest a better term than "wild card," lay it on us. Near the end of the routine, they appear after an Elmsley in the left hand packet (your POV) just before the final color change display of the remaining purportedly red-backed cards on the right. I'm confused as to why you're confused, good sir.

"Wild Card", O.K. I now know what you now mean. I just refer to them as Jokers. That's where the confusion was.

If you really want cards that say wild on them it is really easy make your own up (Providing you can draw fairly well) using Blank F Cards
