You didn't know about computers using "1" and "0" and have to translate them into numbers and letters (and graphics) for people to understand?
You didn't know that modern computers use groups of 16 (or sometime 32) chains (called bits) of 1's and 0's? You didn't know that a four-bit string would read 8 - 4 - 2 - 1? Would you understand, having read that, that "1101" would mean adding all the numbers, except the "2," because its space holder is 0?
