Hi all can someone please give their opinion as to which is the best fire wallet. I am after one that is almost self ignighting on opening or at least has a slim lighter inside rather than the wheel and flint version. Thanks for any help.

More comments please! I'll be watching this thread closely because I'm currently on the hunt for one myself. Cheers

Wait about 2 months and the best will be out! From what I hear it will be around World Magic or just after that. I don't have much info except that it has been in the works for 2 years and was road tested a lot prior to putting it together. The company that is putting it out is known for very high quality craftmenship.

Depends on the style of wallet, but Harry Anderson's Flaming Wallet is one that I have had good luck with.
LOTS of flame. RevJohn |

Avoid one called Hot Wallet Deluxe.... unless you want the effect to last about ten minutes as you try to ignite it. If you ever perform in front of the sort of audience who would be entertained by someone trying to get a light from a cigarette lighter that has run out of fuel, then use this!

I use the jardonnet wallet (Kaps on Fire). It feels good, looks good, and let's you do card to wallet and has a pe*k feature, If you want a cheapy that still works great, I got one (actually 4) from PhatDogMagic. On their website they call it the flame wallet. It is called the HOT Fire Wallet on the packaging. and sells for $14.00 plus 99 cents for shipping. That's a very workable wallet for $15.00 delivered! I found them on ebay, but don't think they are still selling the wallet on ebay. They do still have it at phatdogmagic.com.
Another highly touted wallet is the Supreme Fire Wallet. I saw one recently. It is made of high quality leather and has a huge burn surface. It sells for about $80.00. It's just not the style I would use. The other one I purchased recently is the Magic Fire Wallet by Trickmaster. This one was about $22.00 plus $5.00 shipping. Personally, I wouldn't buy this one again. The striker is way too close to the edge of the wallet (in fact it is flush with it). These all use flint and a strike wheel. I guess I still prefer this method because I don't have to worry about a battery. Obviously, I love this effect, and have developed a fetish for checking out the variety out there. Hope this helps! I use the leather Jardonnet (KAPS) Wallet, and it is still the best fire wallet I own. Again a flint style, but it is lit with absolute ease, made from very nice leather and performs a zippered card to wallet. I can get a great flame out of this thing, almost lost my eyebrows a few times now...

The best wallet you're going to get is the Viking fire wallet. I have a ton of hot wallets but the Viking wallet seems to be the one that last longest without refills, works as a regular wallet, is very elegant looking, gets the highest and widest flame of any I have and has a wonderful and easy igniter. I can't reccomend this wallet more, you won't regret getting this one.

I just purchased a wallet from flamewallet.com I can't even get it to spark. I tightened and loosened the flint screw but only occasionally a tiny spark. Has never lit the lighter fluid even once. varied the amount of fluid from a few drops to running down from wick. I really like the wallet from a wallet point of view, soft, small profile, but what good is a flame wallet with no flame?
John Kohl, maker, advised me to adjust the screw after I emailed him with the problem. I am still waiting to see what I can do with it. Beware the flamewallet.com I will look into Viking wallet. Mont |

I just stick a small lighter at the place of the flint stone. It is more reliable.

Jim Pace's Lucifer wallet is a nice one! I bought two so I can have a back up ready to go. http://www.jimpacemagic.com
I own a Jardonet wallet, but it is too big for me. I will probably let it go soon, I don't do card to wallet either. So I don't think it is necessary for my needs. To me, Jim's wallet is just the right size to fit in your pocket, just a hair bigger than a deck of cards. The wallet lights every time and lasts much longer than my Jardonet. Brian |

I only carry the Jardonnet Wallet - (Formerly Kaps on Fire Wallet) Changed the name due to the cheap imitations being pumped out of China boldly using the same name. I have used this wallet for 7 years and as long as you follow the directions it should last you for along time. Stephane has made improvements on them over the years, and frankly it is the best fire wallet for the coin IMO.

FOLLOW_UP to my earlier post on the Flamewallet.com version. As reported on Jun 4, 2009 I couldn't get wallet to even throw sparks from flint wheel. After a couple of obvious suggestions, the maker John Kohl, stopped replying to my emails-I had asked for refund. After a few days fiddling with it, I discovered the flint wheel had been installed backwards! That is, if I pushed UP on the wheel (a very awkward and cumbersome movement, not natural to opening a wallet) it finally shot some sparks. I notified John about what I had discovered, and asked him to send a replacement insert for the wallet, and to confirm back to me in 1 day that he would do that. He finally did, sent the replacement to me. I inserted it (easy as inserting a credit card) and now it works great. I do like the wallet, soft leather, thin, gimmick is not noticeable-I'm just sorry it took several days and a threat to achieve it. Even when I received the original wallet there were no instructions-just a a hand-scribbled note on outside back of envelope saying he would email directions-never received until I started askikng for them and the help to make wallet work. Finally got the instructions, and later a youtube clip showing operation of wallet. Good wallet, questionable customer service.

Just set real money on fire. Since real money has a cloth base and in not 100% wood/paper, it will absorb liter fluid nicely and if you saturate it with enough fluid. The money will not burn. Only the lighter fluid will burn leaving the money unharmed.
Try it with $100 bills, it tends to work better and gets a better audience reaction

I hace the Jardonnet wallet AKA Kaps on Fire and I love it. As stated above it has a card to wallet feature for a very nice routine. I also have the Harry Anderson Fire Wallet that I have had for years and it has held up very nicely. I do want to try the electronic ignitions wallets. I like a lot of Jim Paces effects so I will get one from him. He is a good guy and has good customer service.
