I recently purchased the Axtell small book and was wondering if you could use a seance cloth gimmick with it so I might secretly pull stuff from an inside jacket pocket to make it "jump" from the book's stories. If not, I'll go the route of the newspaper seance...thanks for your thoughts.

I am confused as to how you would operate the puppet, hold the cloth and still have a hand free to pull the stuff. May be just me - I am easily confused...

Well, I wouldn't use the cloth, just the f**e h**d on one end. My other one would alternate between pulling loads and mouthing stuff...

Yes the seance cloth is a great way to present a puppet. It would be easy with a hand puppet, but the book puppet requires more stabilizing. Usually you would hold it up with your free hand and operate the mouth with the other. If you have the book puppet experiment with how much control you would have with just one hand doing both supporting and operating the mouth. You will probably need to add on some foam that would come down inside the back of the puppet and press down on the top of the hand, so it can hold it up, while moving the mouth. Ax
