I just noticed a posting on Levent's website, that his long-awaited DVD on the Miser's Dream is coming out very soon. Click HERE for more info, then click on "magic products".
From the description of the contents, he has done a masterful job of researching many different approaches and techniques. This should be a gold mine of information for anyone seriously interested in peforming this effect. Based on his previous work [the Roy Benson book and the Salt Pour DVD, for starters], this will be a quality effort all the way. Since I can't really pluck coins from the air, I'm saving my nickels and dimes the old-fashioned way, in anticipation of this release. SETH

FYI, for those who are interested, Levent's website says the DVD set will be released on April 15th (very appropriate!!). Levent is now taking advance orders and the price is $39.95 plus $6 shipping. Click HERE for more info.
By the way, I have no financial interest whatsoever in this, I just know what seems to be a good deal when I see it. Once I have the set I'll post a review. SETH

I can't believe the final price of the Miser's dream DVD set!!
For all of those that you don't know Levent I have to say that all produced by him is pure gold. He is the author of the Roy Benson's book by Miracle Factory. Only that is more than all the actual magic writers wish to say. For me was a real discovery. Then he sold his Long Salt Pour gimmick inspired by Roy Benson's but with steroids!! The DVD that came with the gimmick is the bible of the trick itself. You can learn the history of it aswell know how master magicians performed that trick. Magicians like Roy Benson, Kaps, Vernon and the very best...Levent himself. I also bought the super salt pour shaker wich is the perfect combination. Total $64. Kozak's long salt pour gimmick is more than three times that price. Having both in may hands Levent wins without any doubt. His manipulation lecture has showed me more than any manipulation dvd on the market. Not to mention the ideas with the fantasio's canes and candles but also the real work on steals and giving the idea of how a manipulation act has to be achieved and that was for me the weak point of MacBride's Manipulation sets, two much manipulations but all alone without any clue of combination, a way of routining them and of course very small information about the steals. Now Im buying his entire routine with the Potassy's deck and the Roto-Deck. I have never performed the invisible deck since I I dislike of automatic tricks, but this is pure gold for the professional performer. If the Misers Dream set is only the half quality of the products mentioned before this set will be condemned to be the bible of the effect. D |

Now this looks good! I've been thinking of doing Miser's Dream lately and loved Chris Capeheart when he did it. I think I'll be looking into getting this.

Thanks, Martello, for posting the link to Levent's original post. I also discovered that thread today, almost by accident, and it's quite interesting to see the development of the DVD. The set should be a great resource for coin workers, Miser's Dream lovers, and probably even magic history buffs.
I like John Carney's philosophy in the "Miser's Dream" section of his "Book of Secrets," about mixing several different methods to keep throwing the specs off track (real throws, fake throws, extra loads, etc). I do that now, but with this DVD, hopefully I'll be able to incorporate a few new twists and turns. BTW, for those who are interested, click HERE for a look at a replica of an original T. Nelson Downs coin wand (not the folding coin type). Just scroll down near the bottom of the linked page to see it. And here's another neat coin wand I found in my travels on the Web, also a non-folding one. SETH

Dear Magic Friends:
At present I am on tour until April 14th. The Misers Dream DVDs were estimated to ship on April 15th. The shipping department scheduled vacation from April 5th - April 10th. However, the DVD's arrived ahead of schedule on April 3rd, and all orders that we received at that time were then sent out on April 4th. The shipping department will send out all orders that have come in since April 4th on Friday, April 11th. I want to thank those of you who have ordered or expressed interest in the "Ultimate Guide to The Miser's Dream" DVD set. I hope that it lives up to your expectations. Levent

You will be more than happy with this DVD. I too like Carney's philosophy. It is also one of Levent's 8 poits that he discusses in the DVD as well as his Roy Benson book. He is fast becoming one of my favorite writer's/historians etc. I am now half way throgh the DVD and the scope of information is incredible. The research he has done amazing. I found myself picking up Sachs, Bertram, Downs, Neal etc to read some of the references. As I say in my other post.....well worth the money. It's like going to school for half a semester and studying one topic in depth. Arthur |
