Hello Fridoliina89,
Stage Hypnosis can be very fun and rewarding. There are numerous resources available to help you. IMO it is ALWAYS best to learn this craft from someone directly. Books and DVD's are great to give you some very valuable insight and awareness, but your abilities will flourish at a faster, more consistent pace with an instructor. Feel free to PM me and I will be happy to direct you to some credible training sources. Respectfully, Brian Dean, CH |

You were a bit slow tonight Richard but almost on cue. I have nothing to gain or lose by anyone gaining your DVDs. So please leave me out of your Marketing hype.

If you have never seen any of the material in question, which I am pretty sure you have not, then what gives you the ability to know what it does and does not offer? You are simply bitter and want everyone else to be with you. Sorry but life is working pretty well for the rest of us. Does hypnosis have problems? Oh yea. Will you solve them all by acting like a nit? Definatly not. You are like a dog on a bone. You should let it go or seek help. The sad part is you do have valuable information to impart. It is obvious that you do have experience. But your tainted view really comes through and annoys.

Who said anything about the material? Perhaps you are right with the above poster. Perhaps you aren't. One thing is for sure this forum is being over used by those selling products with false claims.
And who says I am trying to solve the problems of hypnosis? My view is my view nothing more. If it annoys then that is part of being part of this forum. Just as some of the activities of other members annoys me. As for being bitter I really don't thinkso. I could shut up and let things go by. But there are irregularities on here that I honestly think need aired. I woul've thought the happy part is that I have valuable information to impart? You have a strange way of seeing things. I don't need anyone to follow me. I would've thought that obvious from my posts. |

Thank you guys
The dvds from Hypnosisgurus looked intresting. Can I learn enough from them to just try out and do some hypnosis? If so wich ones should I get? The main thing I was wondering about were if its possible to learn hypnosis at all from dvds and books. Becaus I don't have enough money to take courses in it, atleast now right now. |

Of course it is. Its all about confidence though at the end of the day. I hypnotised my first 'participants' without any training at all, just reading old retro books (you know, the ones with the great black and white photos and spirally front covers). Sometimes too much training and too much access to resources can be a step backwards - it becomes distracting and you start replacing raw inspiration and motivation with the horrible thought of 'just one more dvd... then I will start doing it!'. Nothing trains better than raw experience.

I think this is a GREAT POINT. You can take backward steps in "confidence" as he describes.
The dirty little secret of stage hypnosis is that the trance is the easy part. Entertaining is the tough part. Yes learn enough to get out there and start letting experience guide you.

Thank you guys
Can you recommend me what material to get? My birthday is soon and that's like the only time of the year I can buy something so I would like to order the things neede to "get started" Also I was wondering, this is maybe a dumb question but I don't know anything about hypnosis, just that I enjoy watching it. How often does it work? |

This is way too vague a question to be answered on a board LOL.
Heck you will get answers ranging from every time to never and everything in between LOL! I am not being sarcastic by the way, I am telling you the truth! As for what to buy though, again a lot of answers here. Personally I avoid things which promise "instant success". These seem to be as a rule of thumb less than helpfull. The stuff from hypnosisgurus is wonderfull. Do you want to do stage work? Clinical work? Or just learn about the phenemenon? The answers to these questions will be a perfect guide for the material you wish to purchase. What I mean is being on stage is far different from being in an office. NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE TELLS YOU! On the stage your ONLY concerns are saftey #1, and entertainment #2. With those 2 things in mind much of what we do on stage is far different from what guys do in an office setting. Many can not make the distinction. But you will need to learn a lot about presentation and being on a stage and how to block a show and audience reading and so forth. NONE of that helps a lot in clinical work. (I am sure to a degree it translates, but not huge) So decide on what it is you would like to do so then you can be guided better. I for one have absolutly no interest in clinical work at all. Never have never will. So I concentrate only on my stage shows. This is MY preference for ME ALONE. You will find what is best for you.

Thanks for your answer
Well, I have been performing at resturants and partys for almost 5 years now and most of what I performe is mentalism/mental magic so I would like to add some hypnosis for that. Not stage just close up |
