First off- how 'bout that crazy new park at Washington? That back field Jumbotron was giving me epileptic seizures!
2nd- Ryan Zimmerman's walk-off game-winning Home Run! (that he should never have had to hit in the 1st place, If Rauch hadn't thrown a pass-ball in the top of the 9th...) 3rd- did I hear people booing Prez Bush as he threw out the 1st pitch? Well, I suppose that beats blowing off the National Pastime's 1st pitch, like he did the last 2 years running. At least he showed up, I guess... Any thoughts on the upcoming season? Any budding mentalists want to make their predictions now?

As a Mets fan, alas, I predict bitter disappointment (though I hope Lambertmoon is right!)
As a Reds fan, I predict bitter non-disappointment (as least the expectations/hopes won't be high going in)

Why even pretend like it bothers you somehow all of the sudden?

Yes, but when Clinton wasn't doing it, he was out curing the homeless lepers.

Lol! Don't you just love phony indignation?
Eisnehower once skipped to play golf at Augusta National, can't blame him for that!(The Masters is next week. Woo Hoo!!) Prediction; Brewers end up one game over .500.

Lets go Mets!
They are due, they have a team this year that can do it. C'mon babies, lets make it happen! BTW: I don't care who throws the first pitch. More than anything it is a security headache. Let some local mayor throw it in each arena. much less risk. Has there ever been a mayor asasinated? I know one was killed in the effort to kill Roosevelt, but he was not the intended target.

So the third point in the original post was baseball-related, and non-political?

Whatever.
In Chicago we usually ask ourselves "Just how far will the White Sox make it before they blow it". Well today it was all the way to the second inning (2-7), and then again in the bottom of the eighth (7-10)... In San Francisco we were wondering if the Giants will score a run this entire series in LA -there's actually a good chance they won't...

We have a couple of painters who come into Wal*Mart on a regular basis wearing "Sherwin Williams" T-shirts. NOT the "cover the earth" shirt but a logo that has a red stripe and a blue strip with a white paint brush symbol in the center. Every time I see it, I think it's the MLB logo! I wonder if they're aware of that.

You're still talking about that? You must not have a lot on your plate. That pitch was more than 48 hours ago. There have been about 12 games played and 2 games postponed since then. Do you even watch baseball? Or is jumping on this thread just another, yet another, soapbox for you?
OK, guess what, whatever it is you're trying to get from me, I admit it! Why not. Does that make you feel superior? Disingenuous? That's me! Heck, that's my middle name! Bush getting booed better than Clinton not showing up and curing lepers! You know it! This WHOLE thread just another excuse for me to spread my insidious anti-Bush agenda? You bet! My secret feelings that Ryan Zimmerman's walk off homer was really just a zionist plot? I admit it! Guilty, Guilty, GUILTY! With all that out of the way, and "lobowolfxxx" the clear and obvious ideological "winner"... Now, maybe NOW we can talk about baseball. Or maybe we should re-hash this yet again..

There's nothing insidious about being anti-Bush. It's pretty much a band wagon at this point.
I don't actually watch baseball. I watch the summary and scores on the news, but otherwise, I'm just not much of a sports person.
