But, since you insist: Roy Rogers - Dale Evans - They were driving to Carlsbad, NM to see the caverens from Lubbock, TX. They were speeding just outside of Brownfield, TX and got pulled over by highway patrolman who is husband of Dir. of Nurses at Brownfield Hospital. He gave them a warning and they invited him to lunch, he phoned wife, who was with my wife and they called me and we all met at the Shiloh Café in Brownfield, TX for lunch. We have one of the largest Roy and Dale signed collectible collections, including an exclusive "Sidekicks and Saddle Pals" poster signed by Dale and the Artist which was given away on their website as a promo contest. I put the wife's name in the drawing and on our anniversary they drew her name. Irish McCalla- Sheena was on TV, I was a kid in Dallas, an Arlington, TX auto dealership had her for a personal appearance promotion. My dad, knowing how much I liked the show took me. Got my picture taken with her and an autographed photo. Gale Davis- Public appearance in Dallas Area while she was doing Annie Oakley Gene Autrey- I worked a while in radio and while at a national conference got to meet Autrey who also owned radio stations. Gale Storm (man am I dating myself)-She performed at the Hayloft Dinner theater in Lubbock and I met her after the show. Clayton Moore- he and jay silverheels were doing a promotional appearance and signed autographs. George Reeves- Been in Judo a long time and he was a student of Gene LeBell Noel Neil- Sat next to her on a plane flight purely by accident. Jack Larson- Public Appearance John Hamilton- Parents knew a relative of his and got me to meet him when young Robert Shayne- Introduced by a mutual friend, many years after the George Reeves Superman was history. He was the last of the group previously listed to sign my cast photo. William Shatner- Star Trek and Sci-Fi convention in Lubbock. Tony Bennet- After a show in Las Vegas Tony Orlando- After a show in Las Vegas Paul Anka- After a show in Las Vegas (greasing the right palm in Vegas can get you into a lot of places) Julie Andrews- Met at a Charity function in NYC Burl Ives- Met when he performed at Grand Lodge of Texas Chuck Norris (but I knew him long before he started acting)- Known him since the early 60's when we were both in the karate tournament circuit. He always came to Dallas where one of my instructors, Allen Steen, promoted the U.S. Karate Championships. Elvis Presley (actually got to fight him when he had Allen Steen wake us all up in the middle of the night and open one of the karate schools in Dallas) - As stated in parenthesis. Allen woke up the various black belts in the middle of the night and had us come down to one of the schools because Elvis called him and wanted to fight some of his black belts. Reba McIntyre- After Concert in Lubbock, at one time if you joined her fan club you could get back stage pass for meet and autograph after her concerts. Little Jimmy Dickens- Nice guy, when the tour bus in nashville goes by his place he often comes down and meets and greets all on the bus. Wally Cox- Met in a bar in Los Angeles, he was a party guy and a half off stage. Groucho Marx- Introduced to him by a business associate in NYC, strolled down the street with him a bit, he was on his way to a dinner engagement. Harpo Marx- met at charity event at which he played his harp. Chico Marx- a poker buddy of his introduced him to my parents, I happened to be present at the time and met him as well. Buffalo Bob Smith- Public appearance during the 50's version of Howdy Doody. Jay Silverheels- same public appearance and autograph signing with Clayton Moore. Norm Crosby- Met when he performed at Grand Lodge of Texas Louie Anderson- Rio Hotel, Las Vegas, rode up the elevator with him. Leo G. Carroll (gads, I've met a lot of dead people!)- 60's Los Angeles through a family friend. Neil Sedaka- After show in Las Vegas (again grease the right palm in Vegas gets you anywhere) Sharon Stone- In Las Vegas at a blackjack table. Buddy Holly, Sonny Curtis, Waylon Jennings, Peggy Sue Geron, Mac Davis- Before they were famous they were from the Lubbock area where I lived. Lubbock and Levelland aren't that big. G.W. Bailey- his daughter was attending Texas Tech, she had a minor injury and they had come to see her. Sat in booth next to him at Black eyed pea restaurant, he came and introduced himself to us after we stopped our youngest son who saw him from shouting "Hey there is Capt. Harris from Police Academy" to the entire restaurant. He signed my son's paper placemat for him. And if we are talking all the magician's I've met, well consider 50+ years in magic with the last name of "Bouton" and being a relative of another "Bouton/ Boughton" well known in magic, opens a lot of doors.

Living in New York, I have gotten to meet a lot of celebs, especially around Broadway. And also in Las Vegas and Chicago I have met many as well. From Jackie Chan to Mike Tyson. But I guess the most famous besides JFK, just because he recently passed away was Charlton Heston.

Speaking of New York...Whoa, I forgot to mention the first celeb I ever met:
Rodney Dangerfield! I worked in a liquor store while in high school. One day Rodney came in to film a miller light commercial. It was great, I got to hold his sport coat and hear him tell jokes and crack up everybody. He was in a really good mood and the whole day was a lot of fun. LIke Harry said, living in NYC there are too many to even remember... |

Some years ago I was working at Disney World in Orlando. During that time, I got to do some crossover work at the Wide World of Sports during the Atlanta Braves spring training. Because of how the complex was laid out, the players and employees used the same entrance. One game they played the Yankees, and the game was called at the bottom of the sixth with the score being something like 27 to 2. When we were going in the next day, I asked them "How can you show up after yesterday?" They were not amused.
I'm not a sports fan, my roommate at the time LOVED baseball. He was very jealous. |

Vincent Price. At college in 1983. He was getting on in years. A very nice man, but scary-looking, which I guess is what made him a star.

I forgot to mention "Weird" Al Yankovich (sp?) who was making an appearance for a local radio station. The appearance was at a Dunkin' Donuts in the area! He signed my copy of his concert tape AND my copy of his movie "UHF." (Nah, not that much of a fan, am I?)

I shared "refreshments" between sets with (the Boss) Bruce Springstein, and his band even Clarence the sax player in the parking lot of Tony Marts bar in Summers Point NJ back in the early 1970's. They were just a cover band then, but Bruce was always popular with the ladies.
Father Photius Did you really meet George Reeves the TV Superman?????? WOW he is like a mythical figure.

Music :
The Doobie Brothers, got to go to a meet and greet, after the show my son got a pair of drumsticks from the drummer, 2 months later he died of cancer. Paul Revere and the Raiders, one of the very few groups that sign autographs and talk to the fans after every show. Don Reid of the Statler Brothers. Visited with him for about 20 minutes one day before a concert. Others : I forget his name, but the guy that played Cubby on the Mickey Mouse Club. He was at a Birthday party I was doing a show at. He's now on tour playing drums with Bernadet Peter's band. Former Governor Jesse Ventura and Ric Flair, they were in town to Wrestle one night, they were unable to find the Fair grounds, just so happened a buddy and me were walking there, they offered us a ride, ( we knew who they were ), and they got us in for free that night. Buy the best one was last summer we were doing a show, and afterwords a hippie type guy in a white robe came up to the stage after we were done and told us "he really enjoyed the show," then he said, " By the way, I'm Jesus ! " I'm thinking about putting his endorsement in my next promo pack. Bob. |

I was in Kansas City for a wedding and there happened to be a celebrity basketball game that weekend. So I got to meet Alisa Reyes, Kel Mitchell, Sam Sarpong, and Wesley Jonathan. I talked to Wes for quite a bit in the lobby. He was very kind, and was surprised I knew what movies he has been in. I got a pic with him, but unfortunately I didn't get a pic with Alisa.

I once was invited on stage to be interviewed as a performance piece by Spalding Grey. This was a few months before he committed suicide.
I once stood in ceremonial honour guard for the Queen of England. I didn't get to meet her but I stood about twenty feet away from her and in front of the crowd that was there to see her. We had Jennifer Jason Leigh's pants in our house once but no Jennifer Jason Leigh (my wife was doing some alterations on them for a movie she as in) and we had the bathrobe that Traci Lords wore in Underworld in the shop as well, but again no Traci Lords.
