Crazy as it seems, (I have only had this for a day) I have had several opportunities to perform with magnum already.
I own a mind spy wallet, (and a host of others!) do a great center tear, (thank you Mr. Osterland!) Practiced and perform work from Peek encores and peek performances, all excellent ways of getting information. I will continue to use these methods, however their use is going to diminish in my performances. The Magnum Wallet is just to easy and logical. I like billets and center tears for the reason that they can be done on the spot, if you have "nothing" on you. With the "Magnum" you have your wallet with you. (like you always do anyway) You will need to borrow a pen! Carrying my Drivers License, two credit cards, about a dozen thick business cards (glossy photo) a small wad of cash, I am set. The wallet is sleek in this set up, easy to work, plus is comfortable to have in my pocket. It looks good and I would have no problem pulling this out in front of some corporate executives, nor does it look out of place at the local watering hole, it's a small nice wallet. That being said... The magic you can do with the Magnum Wallet is so direct. I wouldn't call this a peek, but rather a stare. This allows for some fairly complex drawing duplications or large number sequence reproductions. Instead of trying to glance a word someone has written you can read Their sentence! The whole time the wallet is laying out it does not garner suspicion. I think the incorporation of technology in a very innocent wallet is genius. Ok, so that's the glance. The ability to double write with this thing is sick. I am not a NW or PW type, never took the time to learn how. That, however does not matter. I won't go into the details, but.... because the technology can be moved you can double write, cover up the double writing and leave it in plain view while you go over the prediction material! Then, pull out the prediction from inside the wallet! This is too cool, I do not know of any other wallet that you can do this with. Well that is my review after one day. And yes I have already used it to great success. The fact that I have been using peeks and glances and double writing for some time already, the Magnum just made my performance all the easier, and to my audience more natural and baffling. If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer. This thing rocks. Arthur |

I was an early adopter of the TeleThought Wallet, which I like very much. (It’s really a business card case.)
Now I also have a Magnum – and it’s really excellent. For what it’s worth, here’s a brief comparison. The viewing angles for the Magnum are the same as for the Telethought. (I had heard otherwise.) There's no plastic window over the filter on mine, so it may even be a little brighter when you get the peek. I gave the Magnum an acid test familiar to all married magicians – I showed it to my wife. I did an A/B comparison with the Telethought Wallet, showing her each one, inside and out (not revealing any secrets, however). Then I asked which one she thought was better. My wife unreservedly chose the Magnum. "Looks more normal,” she said. “No cheesy metal corners. Nicer leather." None of this had occurred to me. And initially I found the idea of a mini hip-pocket wallet to be kind of odd. But my wife saw it as a sort of amplified card case, as nothing unusual. Many magicians, when deciding whether to put a trick in their repertoire, say that there’s only one judge: the audience. If people like a trick, it stays. The same criterion applies for a prop or utility device. If my wife (playing the part of a random audience member) says the Magnum is attractive and looks normal, then that's how most people will see it, too. I'd agree on both counts - it looks nice and doesn't call attention to itself. So I will use the Magnum as my preferred peek device. (And I may even try sw***i writing with it, too; it’s easy.) Cheers, Jerry |

I'm leaning towards the Magnum, too. But, the TeleThought does look like a "normal" business card case with brass corners. Some may prefer this.
The angles are identical with both wallets unless you got a bad Magnum. PM Roth and he will send you a new window. The Magnum does more stuff, and personally I agree with Jerry's wife. It looks more "normal". Something I would actually carry around. It's a close call. Funny how both wallets came out at the same time. Reminds me of Extreme Burn and Prophet. Robert |

Why are there so MANY products with those cheesy metal tips on??!! They look AWFUL. Do people really think it adds 'class'?
My question is, doesn't the 'window' on the wallet look out of place? Why is it there, what would its' function be on a normal wallet? To me, it stands out as odd. Any ideas? |

Magnum is a little bi-fold card case it's only 3.75 inches long and 2.75 inches deep when closed. Its a card case not a big full size hip pocket wallet like the one that exploded in George Costanza's hands on Seinfeld . They have I.D. windows on these little card cases. Go to any luggage/mens wallet store. Plenty of wallets with I.D. windows. It's not like theres a portal to another universe on one side of the wallet, that would probably look a little odd . all you guys talking about little brass corners and accessories. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Bottom line is Magnum looks freakin cool and it works even better than it looks. dats da bottom line brotha's RR |

I've had the Magnum for several weeks now and the first thing I did was to remove the card inside the window and replace it with my driver's license. It looks completely logical; when you are asked for a photo i.d. you don't have to go rummaging through your wallet.

I use the window for the business card that I write on after the image/written information is put in the secret place. I take out the business card to write out or duplicate the image. The wallet is laying out and looks like it should. Everything is so fair, and normal!

Arthur:If you feel comfortable with that, Great!
For me the the aspect of the Magnum that I like is you don't have to do anything after closing the wallet.Close it,lay it down, and forget about it. A little time misdirection never hurts either.[whenever obtaining secret information IMO] If you have not already done so,check out my idea on the Magnum forum. It's easy to make, and you can use many different cards including your own business card. The photos of the Magnum tell a big part of the story: It's a real wallet.
I strated with The Outlaw, moved to the Panther and in a day will have a Magnum.

I just used this at a walk around gig last night. It worked great. The card goes in your wallet, you close it, put it away and you have your information, what more could you ask for? No button, angles, and no fumbeling around. This is a keeper Ryan

Got my Magnum today and have to agree with everyone else here that it is a real gem. A must have utility rendering anything prior obsolete. Quality product and service as always. Another winning worker from Outlaw Effects and the House of Roth.

I do not have the TT.However,I do own a M3M.Let me say this though...Respectfully :"if you are concerned about 'metal corners'...or think your spectator's will be put off by metal corners"...you are seriously using a very negative performers mentality....THEY[spectators] DO NOT CARE![and that is all that is important].
The M3M is not better or worse than the TT because of any metal adornishments. The Magnum is preferable to me because it is a functional wallet. At least for me. Rich |

I was up to 2 a.m. with the "Outlaw Magnum M3M". When I opened the package, I was surprised at how thin the wallet is (4 inches by 3 inches ). Pocket management is a priority with me and the Magnum fits the bill in that area.
The look: go to a high dollar dept. store and they men's "pass case" wallets that look just like the Magnum. They have slots for credit cards and an outside window for drivers license, business cards, whatever you want. The Magnum looks exactly like an everyday business card/credit card wallet. There's an inside slot you can put folded money in also. I've had a few ( not all ) of what are know as "peek" wallets and the Magnum M3M is the finest I've had. It's not really a peek. It's an undetected glimpse. I actually had goosebumps when I saw the image appear in the window. I'm not sure if a proper dollar amount can be placed on it. I look at items like this as if I saw a performer use it and we chatted later and I found out he made it himself and it's not available. How much would I pay to have him make me one? The inside: slots for credit/business cards. Here's what I checked immediately: on the left side, the bottom slot holds a playing card perfectly. I do an effect where I have a prediction and I needed that. For card to wallet fans, you can use a double backer or an indifferent card ( go with an indifferent card and do a KM move after the revelation. That way your deck is clean ). The leather, the size, the BRILLIANT method that I just can't believe. The Magnum M3M is a winner. On a scale from 1-10, 10 being the best and almost unreachable, The Magnum M3M is a 10 Plus!

Rich,
I agree with you. The spectators may not care, but I, myself, am put off by metal corners. I wonder if I remove them if the wallet will be ruined (SUC and others)? They must be there for a reason besides fashion. |

In my opinion, they are both great wallets. But for versitility, the Magnum is the way to go.
I personally prefer the business card appearance of the Telethought. The brass corners display a bit of elegance to my eyes. But the versatility of the Magnum is great. Both great products. It's like asking, who is better, the Beatles or the Stones? Oh by the way, the correct answer is the Beatles. NO contest. |

Don't get me wrong...as a stand alone it is great..but as a final whammy of a routine it can almost require paramedics..played correctly. Rich http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......um=82&21 |
