I haven't come across another Ripper in my research but I did find this.
Quote: 'In 1932, for some unknown reason, Aleister Crowley decided to visit the Colney Hatch Asylum in North London. It was here that Crowley's first wife, Rose Kelly, had been committed for alcoholic dementia, but during this visit he came to see his present wife, called 'The High Priestess of Voodoo'-Maria Teresa de Miramar. He had married Maria in Germany on August 16th of 1929 and about a year later in July she took up residency at Colney Hatch. It was during this visit that the Great Beast met Dr. Alexander Cannon. He records in his diaries on July 5th, "Cannon has rather a bug in his brain over hypnosis. He advised me to leave Maria severely alone. He agreed that the case is hopeless, even should sanity temporarily return." It is obvious that Crowley agreed with the doctor's advice since he left Maria at Colney Hatch. Then again, Crowley had already replaced her with a new Scarlet Woman named Bertha Busch. When Maria was finally released she would return to Nicaragua where she would die in a seedy hotel room from an overdose of heroin.'

Just got mine yesterday. All I can say is that I believe Roth and Dr Todd outdid themselves this time. I personally hope that Roth stops making them BEFORE I see it done at a Birthday Party by a clown making balloons and being held by a kid with a plunger on his head ;-)

I am really really really really looking forward to this effect since I absolutely plan in introducing it into my Haunted Illusion Routine, which I will be presenting at the Magic Castle this summer...

I have been patiently waiting for two weeks now to recieve Luna. But, I like the wait- the tension, the expectation... they are powerful tools when they are released in creative ways. I'm so looking forward to this little pretty.

Hey guys. Just got an email from Rick and he's swamped with all our orders so if you haven't gotten yours he is working feverishly to get the stuff to us. Just thought you might want to know...if you've been antsy like me.

Rick's products are extraordinary and any wait well worth one's patience. I ordered Luna yesterday when I learned from Bruce and Tony that Rick has double-couped himself with WA, CT and Luna tie-ins. I've in-foxed myself: after the Carnie Tarot arrives (sometime soon I hope), I'll continue to greatly anticipate the Luna arrival. I'll be switching the Oklahoma songs I use with the Witch book and will now begin practicing the lovely tunes from Marat/Sade for Luna.

My first copy of Luna got lost in the mail, but thanks to Rick being such a great guy, he promptly shipped me out another one, which did arrive safely a couple of weeks ago. It's sitting on my desk next to me right now, and every so often I feel like I can hear the sounds of distant screaming and the crackle of electricity, but surely it must be my mind playing tricks. Occasionally my skin suddenly feels like it's been plunged into an icy bath, but our heating has been cutting out a bit recently....yeah I'm sure that's all it is.
I probably like Luna a little more than Witches, as my audiences are more likely to immediately accept the existence of psychic scarring caused by primitive psychiatry and incarceration in a mental institute, than the Witches premise (not that the Almanac isn't good and very workable). At least, this strong emotional and psychic harm is part of the reason I intend to use to explain why I'm able to discern the condition and info about the subject they choose. I'm still routining it but, I must agree with Dr Spektor that this is really geared towards the bizarre. |

I mean, we've all worked our tails off to please someone and because they don't SEE us working they want it faster and better. I'm just hoping these effects won't be sold for very much longer as Rick develops more effects. If any of you live in Oklahoma and have the scorpion or luna maybe we should PM each other to sort it out Oklahoma is the bizzare/mentalism hub ya know!? |
