There have been issues with MUM, it is apparently an expensive to pring magazine in it's current format and content. I enjoy both magazines and find The Linking Ring a great size, it's convenient to throw into a shoulder bag for reading on the go.

I forget which issue it appears in, but it is quite handy for finding effects and items later on. It would be nice to see a searchable online version of the index. Since the online issues are fairly new, this will be the first year to accomplish this.

And I was just thinking that TLR needed MORE historical articles.
It is a little less happy without Aldo. Fortunately, he's appearing in M-U-M these days. *jeep! --Grandpa Chet

Interesting concept being expressed here. I'm not very happy with network TV programming, so I should buy a larger TV and that will make the shows better.
It's not the digest format that is causing TLR to go downhill, it's the content. The number of grammatical errors, typos, and "so what?" articles have been increasing with every issue. Since I'm not looking for a local magic club (no time, for one reason), and I don't perform professionally and don't need group liability coverage, TLR is only tangible benefit I get from membership. And lately, it hasn't been earning its keep. Sad to say. |
