THE WICKED WORLD OF LIAM MONTIER Vol. 1&2
http://www.bigblindmedia.com £22.99 per volume Enter the twisted but brilliant mind of the UK's Liam Montier. Famed for his inventive and ingenious solutions to every magical plot he tackles, this respected practitioner has a magical effect for every situation. Like some mad inventor, Liam has the ability to take ANY object to hand and construct a fantastic routine. Across the two volumes of 'The Wicked World…', you'll find material using everything from cards, coins, bubblewrap, bank statements, lollipops, corks, business cards, socks, string - you name it, Liam will use it! And what's even better, is that the stuff is EASY!! Vol. 1 Contents Stickman Sebastian Hof Slap Worry Dolls Lollipop OOTW-999 Visual Voodoo Triumph Twist Cheater Psy-Kik Coin-Corde Withdrawal Psychic Pickpocket Vol. 2 Contents Measles Coin in Case Little Miss Show Sock-it! Bandit Smiling Queen Sleeve Assembly Corker Card Deck Case Happy Monte Only Joking Card thru Bag My thoughts: I held of reviewing this hoping that some one else might spot the gems in here and be compelled to write something. However, the little bunny ignited in me could not wait any longer. Now please put aside the thought that I would consider liam a friend and I am sure Liam will not mind that I be highly critical!. So here goes. mind numbing, face melting magic!! It is evident from the start pistol that Liam has a young fresh approach to magic and a great mind for devising routines from just about anything. The DVD is very well shot and everything is crystal clear. From the first viewing of each volume I noted several routines that I knew would be using till the death instantly. OOTW-999 being one of them. Choosing to use a bet and bank note serial for the final kicker this has to be one of the most direct methods for an out of this world I have ever seen. Sorry The bunny in me is making me get ahead of myself. In this routine you do a standard out of this world with a few cards. The remaining cards are flipped over and turn out to be in the exact order of the specs phone number or a bill serial that you have placed on the table as a bet. Phewwwa, what a routine. Cheater being another stand out routine in a fantastic mix of effects. You show a simple demonstration of how to cheat at black jack. Simply put, 2 hands of black jack are dealt and the instantly change places to give you the better hand. Yet again it is direct and a nice slap in the face. Also check out Psy-kik, I do not know why Liam is not so fond of this. I have been using the same method for a book test for a few years now and love it. This is a perfect application of the gimmick and a well motivated routine. Now on to one of my personal favs. Takes Jay Sankey's Leaving Home, switch out the key for a Chinese coin. Put the whole thing on steroids for a few years and you will get coin cord. My god, what a visual and well thought out routine. I'm trying to not swear here but this takes a Sankey routine that I already do, takes out some of the slow moves and makes it more visual, yeah you heard me its more visual than Leaving Home. just...phheewwaa...Liam what the **** were you on when you created this. Simply astounding. on volume too look out for. sock it, smiling queen and corker. Yet again all is very well shot and crystal clear. In both sets you will find more than enough material to make the set priceless, I can't recommend this enough and I look forward to throwing more ideas around with Liam. Young man I salute you. I would just like to echo what has already been said about theses DVD’s. I feel that Liam not only uses everyday props but also these tricks inspired me to do more with everyday objects. I think the tricks are for young and old if you do children’s Magic shows Lollipop is a must. Ok I could go on forever I’ll leave it there I need to sort out shopping….

Just rewatched these and they have some amazing stuff on them. I especially like Visual Vodoo.
A DVD shelf without these discs is like Eugene Burger without a beard. |
