There was a 5.2 earthquake in Southeastern Illinois about 4:30 this morning. Did anyone feel it?

I slept through that one, but there was a 4.5 aftershock just after 10:00AM, and I felt that one here (Iowa City). My office chair bounced a bit, and my LCD monitor wiggled. About 1/2 the people in the office felt it.

That's the second quake I've felt in Iowa. The other was the last noticeable Illinois quake, way back in 1968.

I was much closer to the epicenter of a 5.5 earthquake once when I was visiting California.

I have family in Illinois (Peoria and Springfield), but I haven't asked them about it yet. I remember the quake in '68. I was living in Galesburg, IL and collecting on my paper route. Outside on a bicycle, it wasn't a big deal, but it was pretty funny to see everyone up and down the street come flying out their front doors all at the same time!

I felt it over here in Michigan. It actually woke me up.
I thought "Wierd...that felt like an earthquake. I haven't felt that since I was in California...No way...I'm going back to sleep."
Then I tuned into the news this morning.
Yep. Earthquake.

Nowhere is safe.

I felt the last one that hit a few years ago around two in the morning. But I didn't feel this one.

The earthquake woke me at about 4:30 this morning.
Didn't last long in my (St. Louis) neighborhood.
The rattling of the windows was accompanied by a low
rumbling sound.
I ran to the back door, hoping to see a large
alien spacecraft hovering over my backyard.
No such luck.
