I've gotta say that I'm really happy to own this effect. I chew gum everyday and have the opportunity to pull off this little miracle all the time. Great opener too. You gotta get one.

As I'm not involved in the manufacturing process (Elmwood takes care of that with a specialty plastic manufacturer), I can't honestly say what would clean it. Mine doesn't look particularly dirty, but it doesn't look white, either--it's not supposed to, it's supposed to be slightly off white to match the gum.
