L. Zaslow, Coin Two has been in Homer's working set since the early 1990's.
If Homer had not made the admission in the literature that he considers Coin 2 a work in progress, what did you feel watching the routine? Did you feel it was incomplete? I know that's not easy to answer after having read what Homer wrote. I think Homer, like many artists, is a perfectionist. Tommy Wonder never considered his published work the final say. He was always working on his material, 30 years later. I think that's where Homer was coming from when he said it's a work in progress.

I understand. But if he hadn't said that, if he just performed and taught it, would anyone think it was incomplete?

Yes and no, personally I found it imcomplete theatricly. but I have, the same feeling for other tricks such as extroydnary. it is what it is. a 3 coin production, then vanish then production. performace for people id rather do somthing like slapping for compliments a vanish sequence that's easier to script and has a nice build of more impossiable vanishes.
Im not trying to down grade this. I do like it as I said, but I think have the enthusiasm of "this is so awesome, its a real worker". is the name on the box. that said I got a lot out of this. mostly from the sections where homer is talking in the details. also, the under talked about ungaffed handling is nice. No offense to anyone, but everyone talks or used to talk about how great silver dream is (so did i) but this contains the original source of that routine, and it was a real pleasure. personally the way homer handles the first coin ismuch less angly then justins I think that can tend to flash (for me at least) |

C. Kavanagh,
I think the issue here is truth-in-advertising. I hardly feel I need to justify my opinions to you, especially because I clearly stated in my post that I am more than satisfied with the product. I decided not to purchase Wesley James' tome recently because it stated very clearly in the ad copy that much of the material was works-in-progress. And I appreciated the truth in advertising on the part of Hermetic Press. Might I not have bought Coin Two if Homer had called it a work-in-progress in the first place? Hard to say, because I loved Coin One so much. Obviously, had I passed on Coin 2, I would have denied myself the pleasure of this DVD. Most likely, I'd have lived. L. Zaslow

L. Zaslow, I apologize if I offended you. I wasn't asking you to justify your opinions for me. The question I asked was based on your post. I don't have the DVD, so I was trying to get more info.
Joshua, thanks for the extra details on the DVD.

I have actually considered using the methods/ideas of Coin Two to produce the coins then go into Coin One.
Don't get me wrong, the DVD is great all around. As a whole I felt Coin One was more powerful, but using the ideas in Coin Two with a bigger routine would be ideal to me. These are definately great magic products, get them before there are no more.

I'm having trouble with the vanish of the second coin; it's too loud for my liking. Any tips to reduce that?

Have just watched the trailer and the bonus video.
Very cool. I was (and still am) in awe of Coin One, so this is a no-brainer. Joshua, when you mention getting a lot out of what Homer says in the details, do you mean he gives his tips on sleights and whatnot? I usually find it one of the best reasons to buy the DVD's in the first place when magicians share extra details other than what they're actually selling at that time. Jay Sankey is a good example of this, always filling his DVD's with extra tips that I often find help me out immensely with sleights I may be having trouble with. Rabid |

I really liked the DVD. I've never done a routine anything like this and like a couple other routines I enjoy, this one is packed with sleights and learning to perform it really pushes your ability to a new level.
The routine is not difficult at all but you sure learn a lot of new ways to vanish and conceal coins. Homer's thoughts on naturalness, especially with the JW, are thoughts everyone needs to hear. I think he's right on in that regard. Great great DVD. Whether you end up using it or not, the ideas will seep into your other work. The non-] version also had great work on =ing. I don't wear a jacket so I don't = coins but it was still cool to watch.
