I found a book in one of my drawers that I didn't know I had. It's called "Pure effect" by someone called Derren Brown.

Is it worth reading or is it just flim-flam?

Nah.... I wouldn't bother.

The cover makes a nice place to stand a cup of coffee though

;)

It is a brilliant book. If you don't want it I will give you the cover price for it. How kind is that?

Hm, I don't know. The cover is unusually ugly. Plain brown without any text on the front side.

Well in that case, I will offer you £20 for it if it is ugly looking.

It might have a coffee stain on it by now... perhaps 15 quid is better...

You have over 800 posts - why even bother making a joke post about Derren Brown?

Maybe he was bored and wanted to have a little bit of fun. Maybe he is genuine and doesn't know who Derren is. Maybe his mum just died and he is having a breakdown. Who knows? You have 145 posts and think you are the boss of the forum. This is the life we live in this little virtual world. Deal with it.

It was just a question. It's funny sometimes, I'll read this board and people will comment "How does this post help any of us?" and the entire board will agree, other times, the board is filled with empty posts, and I get called "boss of the forum" for questioning the post.

I'm not the boss and don't want to be...

I can't really figure out what's the deal with this Brown guy. I get no grip about his book either.

I found this site:

http://www.kuksoolwonofkingslynn.com/sbndarrenbrown.htm

Seems he is some kind of martial arts practitioner.

I like Darren...
Why kick someone in the head, when you can use a stick too.
I reckon that would take a LOT of misdirection.

(The very fact I am writing this is symptomatic of UK Bank Holidays, and the fact I'm trying to finish a college assignment)

I think it would be worth a lot less if it was an old first edition in its original spring comb binding, nobody would want that!!!
