Hi everyone!

I came across an effect called Ultissimo by Merv Taylor. It is a prediction of 3 cards in a special way that the performer writes his prediction in advance on 3 blank faced cards. Then the spectators choose and place their cards near the prediction, then all are turned around.

I found a similar topic at
"Time Ahead. A trick with history. The original version was invented by Paul Curry and called Touch. Another version called Infallible Prediction was published in Greater Magic. Merv Taylor later marketed it as Ultissimo. Joe Berg called it Duo-Prediction Deck and Improved Prediction Deck. T.A. Waters published a version under the name Touche."

Unfortunately, I haven't seen the effect performed, so my question is: Can prediction AND chosen cards be shown at the same time ...? (the description of ultissimo only tells that "it is shown that the cards match" ...)

Thank you!

Well the answer to that question would inherently contain information as to the method behind the effect, so it's not appropriate to ask such questions on the Magic Café.

Some questions you just have to answer yourself by purchasing the effect and seeing if it works for you.

Here's a presentation to help get a better image of the effect.

I own the Steven's Magic prop. There is an alternate presentation/routine by Stephen Minch titled Ultra Ultissimo in the July 1981 edition of The Linking Ring magazine, page 66-67. If you are an IBM member, you have access to all back issues via the Ask Alexander feature on your IBM member page. I prefer Stephen Minch's presentation.
