Why does everyone always scream rip-off without all the facts?

Copperfield only owns his flying method/system. There are plenty of other rigs out there that are freely available and used in the theatrical world. There is nothing stopping these guys developing and selling there own.
Still interested to hear if anyone here has dealt with this company. They do quite a lot of work in the uk. |

The John Gaughan Flying is still under intelligent property rights and patent.
Also Foy is involved. Copperfield, Rick Thomas and others are using Gaughans' flying. |

Although I have never registered with this website, I receive regular emails from this company. I have yet to be able to open any links (the above link does not work for me either), so therefore I cannot see the website.
If you search on here for this company, you will see that the reputation to deliver products is somehwat tarded. I am not sure who the owner of the present company is, but I did have brief dealings with the old (or still present) owner. Unfortunately the owner owes money for sold products, which I have not received after several years. A lot of the items seem to be pipe dreams - on the old site only rough sketches were given, but never any photos or videos of actual props in performance. The owner also appeared on one series of "Britains Got Talent" with the most abomnible "quick" change act - nevertheless he was buzzed off within minutes of the start of his show. My advice is to approach this company with caution. |

LOL Dream-Concepts.com two words: Stay Away!
There is nothing you can get from them that will work, if you get anything at all. |

Does the name say it all? Dream Concepts. Dreams and concepts, nothing real. I almost had them build me a prop several years ago. I had to literally fight for the design I wanted-they kept pushing and pushing a design I definitely didn't want. I stopped right there. Later I have heard their props have had problems and fallen apart.

We bought the vertical asrah years ago. Design on the base was NOT good. Way too big wheels. No girl could ever fit in the base, AND the cape itself was totally out of proportion. We had to redesign everything on the cape, even the wires inside. And we had to cut a trapdoor in the stage instead of using the base, since a girl didn't fit in it. No sense of design WHAT SO EVER! We made the illusion work ourselves. Not Dream Concepts.

This post might be late, but it will save you your money. I spent $2,000 on the "Dream Levitator" from dream-concepts.com. E-mails were going back and forth, and the company seemed pretty genuine, then after some time after I payed, the e-mails stopped, and there was no way I could get in contact with them. They tried to tell me to pay via check or money order (which pointed out scam), but then my mind changed, and which is why I did end up buying the product, when they gave me the option of using Google Checkout. To conclude this fascinating story, I lost my money, and filed a fraud report with my credit card company, got my money back about two months later. As far as I understand Dream-Concepts have not been persecuted in anyway since thereforth. I asked my brother who just finished law school, and he told me due to the fact the company is based in the UK, it would cost much more than $2,000 to fly there, issue subpoenas, put them up in court, and etc. So I wouldn't gain anything from it, though I feel if I really did still have that motivation to persecute this company for the good of the magic fraternity, I would. Hope this teaches everyone a lesson; I went against what everyone was saying about the company and how bad it was, and decided to purcahse the item even though I felt that it was fraudelant, but I still kept that 10% legitimacy factor in my head, and that is what, I guess, pushed me to purchase it. In finality, stay far away, very very far away, from http://www.dream-concepts.com. I hope this will be the post that keeps business away from their industry.

While I understand that others have had an experience different from mine I felt it only fair to mention my own experience with Dream Concepts.
A month or so ago I recieved a bulk email/advertisement for Dream Concepts and their Star-Cloths. As I was considering buying a star drop for my tour I emailed Dream-Concepts about having them build two custom star cloths. Tom responded right away and over the course of a few days the details were hammered out. I had my lighting director look at the specs online and after he okayed everything I contacted Tom and told him to go ahead. Not only did he not ask for a deposit but ended up completing and shipping the drops before he even invoiced me. The two drops arrived a few days ago and I had the chance to completely check them over and test them before sending a dime. They are first rate and the price was exceptional. I had spoken with several companies about various designs and systems and this was by far the best and most cost effective option. I have to say the design and finishing on the drops are excellent and I have no complaints. Anyone who knows my annual tour knows that it is a demanding one. This year we'll be playing 75 shows in 25 cities across Canada over 6 weeks, beginning at the end of November. I'll weigh in after we're finished the tour to let everyone know how the drops stood up, but based on the quality of them I don't really expect any problems. All I can say is that Tom and Dream-Concepts delivered on time, on budget and the product fully met my expectations. Incidentally I have no connection to Tom or Dream-Concepts and am simply writing to this forum to let you know of my own personal experience. Murray Hatfield |

Just a follow up on my last post. We're now about 35 shows into our tour and the star drop I got from Dream Concepts is working great. So far no problems. My only complaint is that it was built with velcro loops to tie it to the flybar and in retrospect I think grommets and tie strings might have made more sense.
Otherwise it is performing as advertised and anyone who has seen the show can attest to the fact that it looks pretty ***ed good. Murray |

I saw Murray's show tonight in Kelowna, and the backdrop looked fantastic and looked very impressive from the audience.
