I just received an email from Steve Fearson about his upcoming new effect:

A fork or spoon to defy gravity at your command!
- no threads
- no magnets
No sticky stuff either. Meaning, the silverware isn't attached in any way to the finger or object it's balanced on. For once, what you see really is what you get.
It's completely self contained and self working.
This illusion can be done surrounded. In full light... UP CLOSE. In fact, the entire trick can take place in their hands!
The spectator actually holds the spoon, so they know for sure that it's much too heavy to be held by an invisible thread or a hidden magnet.
There are no switches, no sleight of hand is involved.

Looks good.

Can the spectator look under the fork whilst it's suspended?

Can the spectator grab the fork at any time during the suspension?

Will the paradigm shifter magnetic help control the suspension from 4 inches?

Looks kinda neat, but by definition it's not a levitation.

Okay, my wild guess is that it is a special fork or spoon, with a gaff similar to PK Pen. Nowhere does it say that you can use ANY fork or spoon, which would be ideal. It does look awesome, though. (Can you do something like this with PK Pen..?)

Steve Fearson is a very clever guy and I've always liked him. I'm sure this is everything Steve says it is!

The fork is balanced on one edge like an unsupported cantilever. Hence it is unlikely that the fork has a gaff similar to PK Pen. But it looks like a special spoon & you might be thinking on the right track. Smile

To me this does not look like magic but a trick fork.

Isn't it up to the performer to create the magic?

Only magic that fork is going to be used for is when I'm hungry. Guess it wasn't for me, buy it if you like it.

It looks fantastic! I love the demo with the cigarettes and the one where it slowly drop off the glass. Very magical looking!

This is probably a dumb question and it really doesn't matter but, Can the fork be handed out for examination?

Thanks,
Tim

The effects on the DVD and lecture notes are far beyond your abilities. (They require mastery of the mechanic's grip.) It would only break your heart.

That is from emagicsupply.com

I'm pretty sure Fearson was banned for life from this board for using profanity. Specifically, the word (cr*p)
so I doubt he will be responding.

Neato!!

Well if this can be handed out then I think it may be worth a look. Sure sounds good.

The method, I am told, is totally different from PK Pen, and is apparently a new concept. I am very excited for this, but Steve has told me the release will be set back a bit due to an accident that happened to the prototype model, making it unable to take photos or makes videos for any form of publication it may appear in.

It doesn't appear to be that. Even if it used the same principle, it would 'that' in the same way that openly shoving a handkerchief in your pocket is the same principle as vanishing a silk in pull.
