Do any of my fellow magicians know if it is possible to purchase a replacement gaffted copper coin as part of the Johnson Products Hopping Halves coin effect? The two shells of the copper coin have become jammed together and I dinged the side in trying to separate them.

I don't know if replacements are available, but you may be able to repair the set you have. press a nickel along the inside edge of the shell and attempt to smooth out the ding, then place a piece of silk between the shell and the coin inside.
For future reference a good way to separate the coins is to shake them gently in a PLASTIC tumbler, the softer plastic is less likely to damage the rims. I hope this helps. |

It's even better to use a "bang ring" to separate things over rattling them in glasses.
You can contact Johnson Products and I'm sure they can help. All their products have a lifetime guaranty and I'll be they've dealt with your problem before. Johnson Precision Magic, PO Box 660734, Arcadia, CA 91066 or call 626-445-1411. Hope this helps. Mark. |
