Hadn't thought about this in years...but for some reason it came into my mind an effect I've seen over the years several times. Does anyone know where the effect of a cigarette lighter flame passing/ travelling/ penetrating a silk was published or marketed? Maybe one version was with a small candle?

I don't recall where it is published, but the basic effect is using a man's handkerchef and a gas lighter. Takes a little practice to get it to work. Have spectators hold outstretched handkerchef. Light the lighter and bring it up to edge of handkerchef. Slide it under the handkerchef so gas of lighter remains lighted. Keep flame moving so not to burn handkerchef.
