Working for tips is one step up from begging. Sorry, but it's true.
And you have no guarantee of any tips being offered. When I used to work a restaurant the customers usually assumed I was being paid and didn't offer (i was always introduced by the waitresses - it's the classy way) They did however, call me to book me. The only reasons to work a restaurant are to get more experience, more PAID gigs and a regular fee. What do you do if they don't offer a tip? Ask? Of course not, that would be disgusting. So then you are stuck performing for maybe 10 or 20 euros a night, if you are lucky. Great. I don't think your plan will bring you much money, but sincerely, I wish you good luck with it. |
