Does anyone think they should just release this already so people will buy it and build it legitimately so it will stop getting knocked off on youtube and having these crappy versions that ruin the secret? These kids annoy the heck out of me.
Thanks,

No, I don't think David should.
Although he acquired the rights to the trick in an unethical way from Steve Fearson, he has the rights to it and it is his own decision. One reason he should not release this is because by doing so, he would only fueling those who are copying them, most of which are not the greatest performers. They will still have their skills behind it. I have seen great looking copies of it, but if those are performed poorly, it does not do anything for the effect. -Matt

Matt, please elaborate on the unethical part please. As far as I was aware he paid Steve for it and later Steve regreted for selling the rights rather than just the illusion.
I agree that it would be ten times worse if he ever released it.

Steve Fearson made several posts about it.
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......start=30 David wrote the contract so that Steve can't even work with the concept of a sawing in half. It was supposed to be that David would have the rights for two years before Steve would be able to market it. David didn't perform it during the two years and that's when the problems came about. There is a lot of detail in his posts.

Does anyone know a good attorney who can help me renig on that contract with Copperfield? Hind site is 20/20. It is unfortunate that he had some "issues" and felt the need to sell it, but that was his choice. And as Steve said: Quote: I also don't want to give the impression that David is the bad guy here. I'm responsible for getting into a situation that I now regret. The truth is, I like David and have always said he dealt with me fairly. If I had it to do over again I would handle it differently.
