I'm looking for a tux shirt with french cuffs that has a 65% poly/35% cotton blend. You would think this would be easy to find but it seems french cuff tux shirts are all 100% cotton for some reason. Anyone know where to direct me? Thanks.

http://www.uniformalwarehouse.com is right in your backyard.

I've used them and been quite pleased.

Cheers! Smile

Thank you very much for responding. But I still only see french cuff shirts that are 100% cotton. I'm looking at this page:

Thanks again.

Ken,

This is copied right from the page you linked to:

Wing Collar Tuxedo Shirt

65/35 Poly Cotton Blend
color(s) white
barrel cuff - accepts cuff links

I also buy a lot from Uniformalwearhouse.

All the best,

Rob

Thank you again for responding. Barrel cuffs are different than french cuffs. The cuff links just kinda hang off them. The French cuff makes a nice clean tight look. Perhaps I'm being too particular. Smile

What's the particular advantage of the blend? From what I understand 100% cotton is usually nicer/ more expensive.

But now that you have them they can no longer be on E-Bay. So logic dictates that not everything is available on E-Bay. After all there can't be two pair of fuchsia suspenders in the universe.

From what little I know about this, the cotton/poly blend is supposed to be more durable, less wrinkly, and easier to care for (no ironing). This is the kind of dress shirt I've been wearing to work for many years. On the other hand, it may be a little warmer than an all-cotton shirt. But anything I don't have to iron gets top marks for me. SETH

Since you generally need to iron a poly\cotton blend shirt as well I'd go with the all cotton shirts as they also wear better than the blends. Also it's cheaper to have your shirts professionally laundered as well, especially when you take into consideration the amount of time you spend ironing them.

Thanks Stanyon, I see it now. The 3/4 pleats threw me off.

I always thought the poly/cotton blend was more durable and resisted stains better. Just my opinion I guess. Quite frankly, I don't iron them. They seem ok to me. I could never get away with that with 100% cotton.

I wear one about 5 days a week, so I've gone through some shrits! Even before I was a full time magician I was a black jack dealer at the Trump Taj Mahal. I used iron them every day, but one day I just said the heck with it!

See, that's the problem with the world. Not enough fuchsia suspenders! There used to be a really nice fuchsia suspender ranch just down the road from us and then developers came in and built condos and.....

Why not just go to a tailor and have 2 or 3 made might cost you 400.00 or so but the fit and feel will be hard to beat. I know the "House of Romono" in Toronto Ontario does this kinda of work not cheap but really nice. I have had some custom made suits made by them and they fit and feel so good makes them worth the price !

As a French I love these shirts: it's a great time misdirection tool to state, pointing at your cufflinks (with a coin palmed) "don't think I toss anything up my sleeve: you'd hear it"
