Maximilian fried me at FISM in Spain several years ago. He was sleeping with my wife, but that was beside the point...

Freeman has the stuff, but I've been holding out too. I "inherited" a boatload of material from Chosse. Two Trunks worth. Funny enough, there was a fairly large box of gaffed Dice Cups. Never knew Max to use them though...

Andrew Wimhurst is near the top of my list. I think he is overlooked because he is not a frequent presence on the magic scene since he is Australian.
Andrew is not only one of the finest technicians alive, but he also has the rare ability to make very advanced sleight-of-hand card routines likable and entertaining. Best regards, Glenn Godsey |

Could someone tell me something more about him performing card magic? What did he perform for you? If he is as good with cards as with coins, he might be the best magician that has every lived. Actually, nowdays there are DOZENS, if not a Hundred or so top level card workers compared to the "old days." With the explosion of information, books, and the amazing quantity of those in the game it stands to reason.

I know he's an XCM guy, but some of the stuff De'vo does blows my mind. I also think Ricky Jay is really a classy worker.
Mr. Quackenbush believes that there is no such thing as a good magic trick.

I have to throw in the legendary Frank Thompson. I know that unfortunately many of you are to young to have ever seen him. I was lucky as I saw him practically everday Saturday afternoon in the 1950's at Phil Thomas' Yogi Magic Mart in Baltimore. Has anyone else in this forum ever seen him?

Pete is right, there are so many to name. Just a handful of names..... Lennart Green Darwin Ortiz Ricky Jay Martin Nash Steve Forte Andrew Wimhurst Jon Armstrong Jon Racherbaumer Mike Close Jason England Earl Nelson and most importantly....... Richard Turner. If you don't know who this guy is, do yourself a favor and find out. |
