Is this a unique problem?

I have a five-year-old miniature Schnauzer that is scared to death of the sound that I make when I blow up my balloon-animal balloons.

I feel bad for him and just close my door when I'm practicing blowing up and making balloon animals, but I was wondering if anyone else here had ever had a similar problem.

Can you train your dog to get used to the sound?

Or do I have to keep my door closed from now on?

Been there, My dog doesn't like it and probably never will, but he has settled down a lot. I'm sure that a high pitched squeaking noise is rather piercing to him so I try and practice away.
