Hello.
"Chronometer Cards" by Takanobu Ishida is in the book, The New Magic of Japan by Kaufman. I love this card trick. Originally it's a variation of "What Time Is It?" by Mitsunobu Matsuyama, published in "1984 Epoptica Yearbook" by Martin Gardner. It seems Gardner's book is out-of-print. So... I look for other variations of "Chronometer Cards"/ "What Time Is It?" Does anyone know where they are if any? Thank you much. @Jay@ |

The Epoptica Yearbook was published by Jeff Busby (not Martin Gardner). A variation of the original Matsuyama trick was created and described by Martin Gardner for this publication. There are many clock style tricks in print, but I don't know of any others that predict time (most offer card predictions). If this appeals to you, you might enjoy Roy Johnson's book (still available if you are willing to hunt a bit) "A World of Clocks."

Thanks for crrection. You hit the nail on the head. I think Matsuyama's original has not been published in English. Gardner's variant is out-of-print. I could only get in touch with Ishida's variant. Therefore I'm looking for other variants if any. As you cleraly mentioned, "Chronometer Cards" is for time prediction, not for a card. I have Roy Johanson's "A World of Clocks". Unfortunately, it's a booklet about clock tricks for card predictions, although a good booklet. Thanks for input anyway. @Jay@ |
