Wanlu, you should start making a website for all these beautiful soft puppets (duck, alien, old man, etc.)They all look great and have personality. Also, as I said before, a T-Shirt website, too.

Very cool. Much like the puppets I have been buying from Pavlovs (In style and character - not saying you are stealing from them)
He has a cute face. Are they available in any other colours?

My artist recently made a baby puppet for me and it in a way resembled the Pavlov Baby so I rejected it. I showed the pictures to Tom Crowl and he said that it's not like the Pavlov, it's a lot different. But still I rejected the design and insisted on making a new design. Why? To prevent getting comments like what I just got above.
But I'm sure it was meant as a constructive crticism and that is how I will take it...so thanks Neale. Watch out for the puppet we are making for our pal Doug Higley

Watchout indeed! I specifically went to Wanlu because of the originality of the features and the internal character that lives in these puppets they are making.
The mention of Disney above is interesting in that while not at all copying any Disney features...the Wanlu Puppet team DOES capture the essence of what Disney strives for and accomplishes...a strong character appearance that doesn't have to say a word to put a smile on your face and be 100% acceptable as THAT character. Disney characters do not try to look like 'something' the ARE the essence of that something... For example look back into the 1930's at the art work being done in popular media...take Dwarves for the example. Study the work of everyone else and then look at the Disney 7 Dwarves as released in 1937. They remain fresh and part of the family even today. It's not just familiarity over time it's that they are familiar at first sight if you never saw them before...their characters do not exhibit an artists ATTEMPT to draw a dwarf they are what other artists will forever look to as the model of such a fantasy character. 100% fully developed at the get go. Axtel characters have this same quality. Wanlu's characters so far have the look of the 'final' take after not accepting the work ups. I wish I could be more articulate on this point and I appologise but...lets say an average artist (puppet or otherwise) made a dog character (or a baby or whatever), more often than not that character will look like a baby or a dog (or whatever) but the artist with the 'gift' will not stop at "Yep that's it. That's a Dog." The artist who has the eye, the skill and the 'gift' will create not just a dog but this is THIS dog. The difference from a generic representation to a fully developed character whether or not you put words in it's mouth or it even moves. Steve Axtel has the 'gift'. The Wanlu puppet team also has the 'gift' in my estimation. And the price is definately right at this stage of their development. It will be up to Wanlu to stick to this VISION as the catalog develops and not just make what's an acceptable representation but one that is a fully developed INDIVIDUAL character model for all time. Hard job yes but is the difference between all those generic looking vent dummys and puppets out there and a 'Walter' or a 'Dopey' or even a Mortimer. That's why I chose Wanlu to create my special character this time out with full confidence I don't have to ride the artists. Stars in the making here folks. Count on it. Doug

Hey Doug,
I'm touched Thanks!!! I appreciate it. Please understand...I don't personally make the puppets...it's my partners making them for me but I have the final say in the designs. They show me something...if I like it then it's a go. I have turned down several granny and duck designs and recently a baby design. I would rather keep away from making a baby (puppet of course) if it will only make us appear like thieves. Thanks again Doug for your kind words..I hope I can live up to your expectations as far as your puppet is concerned. Wanlu

Wanlu and team - please understand I didn't mean my comment as any kind of criticism.
I think your characters are very original. I didn't say your looked like a Pavlov except that it is a light to carry and very colourful character. In fact I like your alient better than theirs. Keep up the good work. I have pretty much set my cast of characters but if you keep coming up with originals like this, I may buy one yet
