I think this looks pretty cool and I was wondering if anyone that has this would be so kind to give their opinion of it.
It can be found here: http://www.magic-wagon.com/ProductDetail.asp?id=14 Thanks, Nick |

I took a chance and ordered this item. This effect sounds so cool and I like the premise even though I'm not into weird magic. It will take 2-3 weeks to get this from Thailand but I will post a review when it arrives. Thanks Frank |

Sounds cool! But ordering from Thailand? Shheeessssshhhh. Getting something recently from Australia was bad enough. Aren't there any U.S. dealers yet?

So they put a push-pin in three of the four Xs on the doll? Doesn't seem like the most staggering prediction out there.

From Dick Barry: Just noticed this posting. This trick looks remarkably like my VOODOO DOLL, which I came out with in 2003 and is still for sale through me or Hocus-Pocus Magic. My version sells for $25. Check it out at: http://www.dickbarrymagic.com/

Frank - Thanks for taking the leap. It would be great to hear what you think of it when you get it. It really does look nice.
I have only heard good things about Magic Wagon and their products have a marvelous look to them. tdowell - What other products do you own from them? Nick |

Yeah
I bet it is good bizarre magic..... I can't wait to get mine. The Magic Wagon's version looks real good and reminds me of the Kennedy Voodoo Routine. I will definitely be using it daily in my shows. Thanks FV |

I own Mr. Barry's Vodoo Doll and it is exactly what he says it is...wonderful. I saw him perform it at the Cleveland IBM convention a few years ago...bought it...love it. It is plain and simple, exactly what a bizarre magic effect should be. You can dress this effect up with the right situation and really creep some folks out, or, present it as a novelty and still get a great reaction. That said, I own well over a dozen Magic Wagon effects and am in love with this company. They are a new magic apparatus legacy in the making. If you own anything they have produced you can see the pride that goes into producing it. I don't own their version of the Vodoo Doll effect, but if it is as good as the rest of their collection, you can be sure that you won't be disappointed. Bottom line...different prices yes, but I really don't think you can lose here.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

I thought the point Dick was raising is maybe his idea got ripped off? Not sure if that is reason to celebrate 2 versions?
Having said that - I don't own it yet so I'll wait for Frank to post a review as it looks good and I'd want to buy it if it is an effect that is different enough from Dick's.

Oh, if I am reading the ad correctly - it appears Dick's might be superior anyway as the person can put the pin ANYWHERE in the doll... and comes also with a nasty looking evil pin - adding in a nice cloth bag etc and painting a skull face on the doll isn't too hard!

I watched Dick's voodoo doll effect from his site and I was not impressed.
Yes, you can put the pin anywhere but he "fiddled" with the prediction and then gave it to the spectator. It was very obvious what he was doing. Plus, the Voodoo doll looks like something you would buy for a dog. Sorry, but just being honest. I would buy Dick's effect but his Voodoo doll just doesn't look like a Voodoo doll. His method may be good but there is too much fiddling going on. Again, just my two cents because Dick's other effects are out of this world! |

The question is - was his effec ripped off? For example, if someone Magic Wagon suddenly put out Thesaurus-ary and gave out silver and black enamled book marks and gimmicks with a silk bag for the same price of predictionary - would you feel a bit ****ed, Frank?
