Greetings LobowolfXXX;
Wow 7? You are ahead of me. If my memory serves me right, I think all 5 of these are; Secretariat Citation Seattle Slew Assult & War Admiral Just out of curiosity Scott, how many triple crown winners are there in all? All the Best Marty |

There are 11. I missed Assault and 3 others.

I thought Big Brown was out with a cracked hoof.

I think the hoof is fine. He's been wearing special shoes in the other Triple Crown races, I don't think it's an issue.
Are you going to put money on Big Brown to win Slim?

By how many lengths did Secretariat win the Belmont?

Sounds like a trivia question, so I'm not looking it up...I think 23.

Is that a trivia question John? If so, I won't answer because it's a softball.
But I will tell you that Chic Anderson was calling the race and it's one of the greatest sports calls ever. They're on the turn, and Secretariat is blazing along! The first three-quarters of a mile in 1:09 and four fifths. Secretariat is widening now! He is moving like a TREMENDOUS machine! Secretariat by twelve, Secretariat by fourteen lengths on the turn!... Tremendous machine. What a call. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CX9SIwYVcg

Nope! Just checked. I won't put the answer up, in case anyone else is going to take a crack at it.

Sorry, bad link. Watch this, it's awesome.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoFquax2F-k&feature=related To me, the coolest part of that clip besides the race and the call itself is how the camera has to pan left to see the rest of the field after Secretariat crosses the finish line. Absolutely ridiculous.

Big Brown does have what they call a "Quarter Crack" and I was talking to my horse shoer yesterday and he explained how they are shoeing him for this and that it should work although he will need time to heal up after. I think they were gonna breeze him today and that should tell the tale for this weekend!
I personally don't think he has any real stiff competition to worry about! We shall see! |

He was wearing some special glue on shoes the last two races. He drew post #1 and I agree, I don't think he will have much trouble if the hoof isn't an issue.

The way I understand it the glue on's give better flex without putting pressure on the crack! Didn't know he drew #1, but based on what I've seen of him so far I'll bet he moves over 2-3 slots within the first 50 yards so he can psych the early leader pack before he makes his break! Watch the way he ran in the last race.... he's just cruising, never stretching his neck out then he just bids "Adios" but never hits his full stride! He's a brute!
