Max is a great guy and his new production screen is ingenious! It packs small for the performer on the go yet plays huge to parlour and stage audiences alike! I think what I love the most are the 10 included standard panels for just about any hoilday or event and the ability to customize the sides which is ideal for those working corporate conventions or doing marketing promotions! It also includes a high quality carrying case and instructional DVD! Very well made and will surely last a lifetime! Comes highly recommended! I love this item, Max has put a great spin based on a classic effect. Plus the versatility
of being able to customize the panels to have your own logo or company logo is great. My favorite part is the subtly of starting out with the screen laying flat on any table is so cool and very deceiving. The uses for this item are truly unlimited. I am personally using it to close my show in a way that fits my personality by making my screen look like a drink list, then producing a drink and toasting my audience at the end of my show. Real quality here, this has leather hinges, is very sturdy, great effect produced in high quality for the discerning performer. All this and a DVD too!! Also I love the fact that you can continue to accessorize as you go along. Perfect for trade show/corporate work and the professional party entertainers will love it too! Trust me this thing is cool very well made and thought out. I think it's worth it's weight in gold. My hats off to you Max!!! |

Hi everyone,
I noticed a few of you talking about my product on the Café. Here is just about anything you need to know. When I decided to release this item. The reason I did it was because I was always a huge fan of the concept. I had the classic version (Temple Screen). It was a clever trick, but unfortunately I outgrew it quickly. I would use it from time to time, but I was limited to what I could do with it. I was 15 then. FF to 3 years ago. I was contacted by a client to do a show last minute for Halloween. I didn't have much in regards to Halloween based effects, so I set out to create a few with the 3 days I had to prepare. One of the effects I came up with was a production screen using those yard signs you stick into the ground that looked like headstones. It turned out to be a big hit as I produced candy and silks from this thing. After the show was over I was thinking to myself that there should be something like this on the market. That was my original plan. FF to early 08. I was back to doing shows full time after leaving the "day job" and trying to add some different things to my show. I had always in the back of my mind thought I had something with my Halloween idea. I wanted to be able to use this thing for any event or occasion so I began to try and plan out a way to create a completely customizable screen that would suit anyone by being able to add their own graphics/themes/images. What you are seeing now is the end result of all that R & D. This utility prop had it's roots in a classic effect, but is light years away from where it began. It is made of vinyl and leather with a very sturdy support material which allows you to load it with much heavier items. The load chamber itself is completely removable from the screen as well in case you need to clean it from repeated use or an accident with a liquid or animal. Every one of these is handmade here in the US. It has a double load with the additional feature of being able to have it laying flat on your table before you do the production. "The original could also do this but the load was horizontal and so limited you to what you could put in there. The load chamber will easily hold a small rabbit, a wine bottle, 9 dvds in their cases, or just about anything else you can dream up along those lines. All of the panels have interchangeable faces which allows you to customize this any way you see fit for your performance. I have provided a set with the screen along with three additional faces for typical events happy birthday, happy holidays, etc... I am also in the process of creating several other themes as we speak. You are not required to buy the extra faces from me, but for those who did not want to do the work I wanted to have them available. If you use it for the rabbit production alone it would be a great effect but that is just the tip of the iceberg on its usability. This thing packs into its own case and takes up about as much space as a large encyclopedia. Appx dimensions are 12 x 16 x 2.5 The bottom line is that what you see now is something that I put an immense amount of time and thought into and I hope that it serves you for life as it should. If you have any questions, I am happy to answer them. The more you use it, the more ways you will find to add it to your shows. Kindest regards, Max Krause

Everyone complied when I called them, everyone but MAK who had our version made overseas cheaply and undercut us. It's not a myth or accusation, it's clearly listed on their site, MAK clipped us. There have been so many version of the temple screen both in stage size and palor size by Major companys in the market place so lets not jump on Max. Max added a feature that is an asset to the effect. To see and use one of these is a joy over the cardboard cloth tape version and it's multifunctional. Jake

After seeing Max's 'Versatile Production Screen' first hand, I was instantly impressed and decided to get one immediately. Not only do I use it in my own personal show, I asked Max if I would be able to carry it since it fits the Magic Enhancer brand- Quality magic products for the working professional.
Versatile is the perfect word for this screen. I like the fact that you can customize the panels and interchange them to suit your performance venue. It comes with Happy Birthday Panels, COngratulations, etc. It also comes with a nice carrying case as well, which saves me extra space when I travel. After using it several times, I decided that it will stay in my show. I use it to produce a rabbit. My rabbit fits in there comfortably (the load chamber is huge) and I can even produce other objects before producing him. My rabbit hadn't yet- but I love the fact that you can completely detach the load chamber in case the rabbit (or doves) soil it. One last feature I like about this is that you are able to start with this flat on your table. It doesn't need to be standing upright, as previous methods. This adds extra deception to my show not to mention it's much easier to transport than a bunny box of some sort. Which makes me happy cause it's less to cart around! I am really impressed with this screen. For those who want a quality magic product that will last a lifetime, this is it!!

I have worked at two different magic shops and also as a full-time performer. In that time I have seen my fill of various pieces of crapparatus. (My sniglet for those of you who know what that is.)
Max's Panels are actually worth their cost. I got to see them up close and personal when he was in Minnesota. If someone is looking to have a versatile production item, I don't think you can beat these features. As Robert said there are some serious benefits over most other props. The things I like the best are 1) Packs Flat, and can lay flat prior to production. 2) Large load space. (seriously large!) 3) Deceptive. (not always a given when it comes to production devices) Clearly the ability to change the panels and promote different events is the icing on the cake, but even without that this would still be a smart bet for anyone working with production devices. Max is an old friend of mine and a full-time commited magician/inventor. He showed me this item in person the other day and I was very impressed. This top quality screen will last you a lifetime. And the best part, it can be as customized to your occasion as you want it to be. If you're a working performer, this item will definitely find a way into every performance. Highly recommeded.

Just got mine .. VERY Nice!
I got the screen, carry bag, extra screens, and performance DVD. The screen is very high quality and looks like it will last long enough for me to hand it down to my son. It packs flat and holds a big load, unlike my circle square. I typically perform for kids and I’ll be using it to produce candy, a rabbit, or gift for the birthday child. I called max and he gave me a great idea for a teddy bear production. I like the fact that it can be customized for different shows, that attention to detail always help sell a show and gets you repeat business. I have always had a problem using a black art circle square in the many different environments that I am in. This has a very large load chamber and is a real clean production. I LOVE the fact that you can lay it flat on your table, then do the production. The DVD is done well very clear to understand. I have never used a temple screen and typically try to avoid anything that looks cheap. This screen looks more like a leather business binder. It is refreshing these days of overpriced and underwhelming magic products to get something that shows your customers that you are a pro. This is something you will be proud to perform. Nice job MAX -Craig

RNT II recieved our the other day as well. Before posting my review of the product I want people to know, RNT II has no ties to this product other than helping Max promote his new line of magic. We recieve no compensation for his sales or his advertising on our site.
Our screen arrived, first I was impressed with the quality of the carrying case, beautifuly crafted. The contents were even nicer. Everything is top notch craftmanship. The ability to change out panels for venues is long over due welcome to this classic effect. With the option of being able to purchase custom made panels with your own artwork to suit venues is invaluable to this fine effect. This is a great prop for tradeshow workers! The creative use of this prop is only limited to the performers imagination. The stitching on panels is beautiful and adds to the stability of the panels and the clean handling. As Craig mentioned the load chamber is very large and secure, along with the feature of being removed for cleaning or even adding an extra load. For being his first product release Max has a real winner here and really for the professional performer is a steal at the price listed, especially since the prop can be changed to suit venues. Jake

These aren't just trivial changes. Max has improved on a classic in a way that every working pro can benefit from. For the record, Max is possibly the worst golfer I've ever played with. But the proof is all here that he can do something right.

I received mine from Max recently and wanted to second what everybody here has said. The unit is well made and I really like the ability to instantly change panels to whatever fits your theme. And the carrying case makes transportation a breeze. I particularly like the flat display, where you can have the prop lying flat on the table then set it up and produce your item(s). Max is great to deal with and will bend over backwards to help you out. If this looks like something you might use, it is definitely a worthwhile investment. Now, when are you going to start selling the necklaces and himber rings you told me about, Max?

Jake, Thanks again for all of the help and kind words. I think the screen looks great with your logos on it! The B&W really makes the whole thing POP! I can't wait to hear what crazy things you start producing from it! Brian, My golf game is improving. Almost as if by magic Bill, I love the bug trick and am working on ways to build on the concept. I will keep you updated. I am glad you received the screen and hope you too can find several ways to use it. The rings and necklaces are currently in production and I will let you know as soon as I have them completed. Thanks again for all the kind words guys! Max

I just had the pleasure of meeting Max Krause last night and he was kind enough to show me this production. Not only is the production top notch in quality-- it fooled me. It's so deceptive. Did I mention quality? This prop has a ton of potential for anyone who wants to add a production piece to their show. From producing silks, to random objects- to even a full blown rabbit! I'm almost tempted to get a rabbit and buy one just to do the effect! It's literally built to last a lifetime. It comes with a beautiful carrying case. Oh, and here's the best part-- it packs flat! No wait-- here's the best part-- the screens are changeable! Wait--- oh heck there is no single best part. It's one heck of a prop. If you're a working professional you understand what I mean. If you're looking to take your show to another level with a good value production piece then Max Krause has made the prop for you.
Bravo to one great creator and thinker in magic. I look forward to anything he's planning to release in the future. It's bound to be unique and innovative. Just my two cents, Matt Wayne

I just received this from Max. I was at first a bit hesitant getting it because of the price and because I normally use a squared circle. Well, I am glad I did and now I can leave that heavy and bulky squared circle at home.
I was initially impressed with the well made and soft carrying case that everything was neatly and comfortably packed inside. I was then even more impressed when I opened the production screen and saw how beautiful, well made and professional the panels and the production screen were. It came with 3 different panels that can be easily interchanged including a holiday theme and a birthday theme. I also ordered and received a menu panels theme which were very nice. The screen itself is extremely nice and well made. I can tell that Max put a lot of work and thought into the materials and the design of the screen and the bag. It was a nioe touch to add the zippers to make it easier to clean the bag. This screen also was specially made to allow you to lay the panels completely flat on the table prior to the production giving the panels an innocent and completely empty appearance. Good thinking! Of course the screen inserts are extremely nice and professional looking making it not only a practical but also a professional looking "prop." It does take a little effort and practice to get the handling smooth and to get a feel for the weight of the screens, but it is certainly not difficult and well worth the small effort. It also comes with a double load bag. That was a great idea. With regards to the DVD, it was clearly shot with terrific sound and video quality. I have purchased magic dvds that I wish had the same video and sound quality that Max's dvd has. Max thoroughly went through all of the moves and 3 production variations with different angles and was easy to follow and to learn from. All in all it is a very well made and thought out product with many uses. The materials used was first rate and this productin screen should last a lifetime. It is certainly worth the price. Max will be coming out with other themes for his screens including, hopefully soon, a halloween theme. Highly recommended. Michael

Thank you for the kind words. I will definitely stay in touch. Keep me updated on the projects you are working on as well. Michael, WOW! I couldn't ask for a better response than that. I really appreciate you taking the time to do such a thourogh review and I am happy that all my hard work is appreciated. I will let you know when the Halloween Theme is ready. It's a good use of the Grant "Temple Screen" principle. I see from the demo video that you've made some clever modifications to the load chamber.
I particularly like the idea of having it be a restaurant menu . http://www.rnt2.com/product.aspx?productno=617 I came up with the idea of using it as a menu years ago for myself , then later had someone point out to me that Owen Magic Supreme had already put out a version of the "Magic Menu" . http://www.owenmagic.com/Club___Stage/Ma......uen.html I think this is a natural use of the three panels, to make them into a menu. The prop that Max Krause makes looks very solidly crafted , so if I had not already made my own a long time ago I would definitely consider this . And of course Max has other "themed" panels that can be used besides a menu, although to me that's the most logical reason for having three panels arranged like that . Everyone has seen a menu like that in real life. The idea of magical production of food items and capped off with a large bottle of wine (or soda if you're doing kid shows) is very appealing. |
