Hi everybody, I find blank decks fascinating and would like to compile a comprehensive list of major effects that use blank and double blank decks since it doesn't seem that any such list exists. Also, I'm working on a routine using a blank deck that goes through multiple phases and I'd like to make sure I'm not reinventing the wheel on blank deck/card work. Here's the list of effects I've seen and I'm hoping other folks will help me add to it, along with the sources for the trick.
in no particular order Dill's blizzard (single marketed effect) fadeout (Meir Yedid single marketed effect) mental photography/nudist deck (I don't know the inventor but it must be really old because you see different versions of it everywhere) I've read Aldo Colombini has a couple of tricks in the Solutions lecture notes, but I don't know what those tricks are. Wilson's blank deck ACR on pasteboard pyrotechnics Guastaferro's "Snowball Aces" (I've only seen video, don't know where this is published) Mathieu Bich's Erazed (single marketed effect) Peter Duffie's "point blank" (packet trick marketed on it's own) Sleightly Touched and Mates for Life on Kenton Kneppers "Blank" dvd That's all I could come up with with a few quick searches plus searching my catalogs. Any others that should be added? Also, any historical references about the use of blank cards I think should also be considered for inclusion. I'd really like some suggestions for places to research. Thanks, Jason

Jason, I don't know if these perfectly fit your criteria, but:
John Guastaferro's Supra Gemini is a great effect, practically self-working. Aldo Colombini's Draw a Blank is a fun trick. Richard Sanders has an excellent blank deck routine on Super Cards. Mathieu Bich's Spreadwave. Peter Duffie's packet trick, Ghost Flight. Phil Goldstein's packet trick, B'Wave. John Bannon's Call of the Wild. Those are all I can think of off the top of my head, and all ones I enjoy doing. I'm sure the historians in the Café will come up with much more. John |

The Princess Card Trick variation called Limited Edition (Gordon Bean, IIRC?) I use it as an opener of Mental Photography deck - "Perhaps you're wondering what I do with all the blank cards?"

I Dream of Mindreading (John Lovick)
It's a great blank cards effect in Talk About Tricks Vol. 2. It is easy and the presentation is great.

Add to that Bob Hummer's (and the many variations, including a recent one from John Lovick called I Dream of Mindreading from Joshua Jay's Talk About Tricks DVD) Mindreader's Dream. Not originally written up with a blank deck, but is more powerful with one.
Check John Racherbaumer's Dreamworks booklet for a whole slew of ideas with this trick. DeLong

Take a look at "White Bikes" by Paul Richards. There are video demos available at various sites.

One of the easy-to-do but knock'em dead blank deck routines in my mind is Jay Sankey's Fade Away in his 22 Blows To The Head...
