Hey Everyone,

Can anyone give me their opinions on the European Asrah Levitation. Do you like it, Do you not like it, is the effect as good as all the descriptions make it sound. Naturally I am familiar with the asrah levitation, but is anyone familiar with this certain type? Also, the cheapest one I've found thus far is around $1,400. Does anyone know of a place I could get one cheaper? First though I just want to know what everyone's opinion is of it. Thanks in advance!

that's a lot of money. I think I can make it for like 30 bucks.

I think it looks great but like Tor Egil says, with a little bit of research you could make one yourself. Actually, your really gonna have to dig but it's worth it.

Well, the price also comes with the base. I might have to research on how to build one myself. Is it worth it though? Any other opinions? Thanks!

hey Jaeiii;

The European Asrah is great when you are unable to have access to a full theatre which would enable all the hook ups of the classic Asrah. To me, the European version looks good, but looks more like the form is clinging to the hands then a full blown levitation. I highly recommend the book the Encyclopedia of Suspensions and Levitations. It has a few different variations on the Asrah. If you can have the gimmick pivot and look that may make it look more fluid in the levitation. Hopefully this helps.

Magically yours,

Thanks, Matt. Great opinions! I appreciate you taking the time to answer. Anyone else have an opinion about this illusion? Or know something about it worth mentioning?

JaeIII, we perform an asrah effect in our show. We have a flown version and the hand held. We have been fairly pleased with the hand held, but flying is the best way if you can.

Thanks Kevin. I would be purchasing this illusion for one main performance, and this performance will not allow me to set up the regular version. It would have to be the hand-held. I'm glad to hear you like both.

The European Asrah is meant to be used as a two person illusion. The magician and the box jumper.

There is no rigging that you would normaly do with an asrah.

I had played with this illusion for about three years and have come up with ways to do this from the floor and two ways to go south with the gimmick.

This Asrah looks good when it is floating. The bad thing is that the instructions tells you a way to end the effect that simply sucks! You will have to think of your own way to end the effect.

Anyone that has the European Asrah and would like to know my handling just PM me.
