I posted this question elsewhere but isn't there a discrepency if the objects are obviously 2 feet apart & the prediction says 19 feet (Or whatever...)Since I assume the distance is a f****?

Jerskin: like Gabor said, it all comes down to just controlling your volunteer. If you do your job correctly, and it's really not difficult at all, there won't be a discrepency.
I have this and here's my review: EFFECT: I like the effect. I think it's hillarious because nobody would want such a retarded superpower. GIMMICK: Comes with three gimmicks that will last you a LONG time. Easy to use. PRACTICALITY: If you have your tape measure with a gimmick you can do this anywhere, anytime. I think it's really practical. DIFFICULTY: Piece of cake. If you can stretch out a measuring tape, you can do this effect. OVERALL: As good as it can be. Haven't used it yet so I can't really review any of that but I think it's great. If you like what you see in the demo and what you read in the description, that's exactly what you get so make your own decision. |

Jason,
Supercool effect and thinking. Not being nitpicky- this is just a question: let's say you did this effect and you had Mr. Carpenter in the audience. He would probably be the only one thinking "187.5 inches- looks like 164 to me?" He would probably be the only one well trained enough to catch the discrepancy? This looks practical, adaptable, and great |

Hello all:
Thank you for all of your comments and wonderful feedback! Magic1: The truth is that most people, from a distance cannot tell the difference between (as in your example) 187.5 inches or 164 inches, or 102.5 and 114.5, etc. I suppose like any magic trick that we've all done, there is occasionally one person in the audience who BLURTS out the secret. It is at those times that I think we find ourselves shocked and wondering, "How the HECK did that guy figure that out???!!!" lol I'm very confident that even if you did have a brilliant (as in your example) carpenter in the audience who knew his/her distances that accurately----although I think that would be a little tough for anyone to do----they still would have no idea how the trick is done and would still be blown away like the rest of the crowd. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you again for your time and interest. Best regards, Jason Palter Paltergeist Unlimited (416) 410-5766 jason@paltergeist.com |

I just got this in the mail last week. Maybe I'm biased because I've been very pleased with the three things I've purchased from Jason (The Red Carpet, Third Degree Burn, iKnow). Now I can add a fourth trick to that list, The Space Between.
The props/gimmicks are everything you would expect. The DVD is well done and Jason covers everything in great detail. In fact, before I even sat down to watch the DVD, I started toying around with the props. As I was doing so, I had a handful of "I wonder how you..." questions. It was almost as if Jason was reading my mind because everyone of the issues I had were addressed on the DVD. The tape measure is just a little bit different than tape measures most of us have in the States. Because I'm assuming he bought them from somewhere in Canada, the metric measurements on the tape measure are more prominent than what they would be on your standard Stanely tape measure. I'm probably even over thinking that. But that's all I can come up with as a (for lack of a better term) negative. I hope I'm not confusing anyone. It is a standard tape measure that anyone in the US or Canada can use. It just has both inches and centimeters. Shoot me a PM if you have any specific questions. In my opinion, this is a great trick and is a nice change of pace. I don't think you'll be disappointed. |

Jason has a diabolically clever mind and his products are extremely well put together. His attention to detail borders on obsessive!
I really like the thinking that's gone into this particular item and I'd recommend it for any extremely mental performer looking for a fresh new effect. Cheers, James

This is one of the best prediction effects I've seen out in a while that's not just another card trick masquerading as a mentalism effect! I am very pleased with my purchase.

Hi Jason,
I really like your effect alot. Happy with what I received. But to be very honest. The gimmick could be better made. Aaronish |

Rhetorical question, but what do you mean the gimmick could have been better made?! It's as good as it can be, it is what it is. I can't say more without exposure.

I agree the gimmick should be better made. Current gimmick can hurt your hand.

Hello all:
Thank you for the comments on my trick. I'm sorry if you find that the gimmick hurts your hand. I can offer you a suggestion that might work: Simply take a pair of scissors and slightly round the corners of your gimmick. You may find that it will now be less likely to hurt. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions; hopefully my thoughts above will help. Thank you for your time. I have just ordered mine and although this thread has given a few clues as to the workings, I am looking forward to getting this, watching the DVD and using it straight away in the real world.

Mine arrived this morning and although I have not had time to watch all the DVD yet, all I can say is how deceiving, well thought out and well put together this is...A brilliant bit of 'impromptu' genius. I can't wait to try it out.
P.S. a massive thank you to 'Alakazam' who got this out to me super fast. Paul Mc.

Hello all:
Thank you for the compliments! I just returned from the IBM/SAM convention in Louisville. Those of you who attended know that I had a Paltergeist Unlimited booth there; I had a blast! "The Space Between" was probably my best-seller for the week, and I had a ton of great feedback from people. Anyhow I just wanted to say thank you again.
