What is better - hopping halves, copper, silver, brass, or scotch and soda?

They are all good but I would go with Hopping Halves as you get the most bang for your buck. The gaffed coins that come with this set can be used in many other routines and would cost more if bought individually.

Hi, As For the most stuff you can do with it I would say Hoping half frist then Copper silver, brass! If you want A good Pure silver
Hoping half Tod Makes The best One!!! I have A Hoping half routine where you start off with real coins and then ring in the gaff in my sound routines book! ( The Book on the rattle gimmick) You not only see The Coins come back but hear the coins come back! There are some routines you can do with A Two copper, one silver that you can't do with a Copper, silver, brass! If you want the best Of both worlds Have Tod make you A Copper, silver, Brass, with A solid Brass Coin! Then you have A lot more Leeway in the type of routines you can do with it! Hi,
As said before all of these are all good effects, but I think that I get the best reaction out of scotch and soda. But on the other hand, Mark came up with a good point, that hopping halfs has the most gaffed coins... So it depends on what you plan on doing in the future with coin magic. Mark

I Prefer CSB myself, but you do get more diversity with hopping halves. You can get all in real silver coins at the magic warehouse they are made by Johnson and are also excellent quality. Fast shipping too.

Akin to what Jonathan is asking - I would say the better EFFECT is the Scotch and Soda, followed by CSB, then the Hopping Half. The HH falls sort of under the ol' sucker bit of "now what do I have in my hand? - wrong, you're an idiot" type effects. I know these can be presented magically, but really - the hopping half is all eye candy that makes the spectator a dufus. CSB is all eye candy but the spectators are watching impossible transpositions. Of course, you can still make the spectator a dufus by asking them which is where and proving them wrong every time. As far as impact on an audience, at least Scotch and Soda happens in the spectator's hand. I think this is the strongest of the three. However, Curtis Kam will have a CSB routine on POS III that has transpositions in the spectator's hands. I vote for trying to get the opening coin effect into the spectator's hands - later you can stupify them with eye candy.

URGENT???????????
Not enough info to help you - In the hands of someone like Mr. Neighbors or Mr. Kam either effect will make the spectators do several swivel neck moves. Both are staples in any coin magic routines Dave |
