I'm starting to do more and more kidshows and I've recently discoverd this book while browsing the web. Is anyone familiar with it? As a kidshow performer, would it be worth my while to purchase it? Thanks for any thoughts.

It's an old book that contains pictures and quick descriptions of very old gags and funny bits. It's not a book of routines or tricks or scripts, if that's what you're looking for.

Taylor, I bet you will get more of a response if you asked about the book in the section where more clowns hang out.

It's a great book, Taylor, with several classic clown routines that can be adapted to a children's stage. You might also want to look at Clown Act Omnibus if this sort of thing interests you. They're not exactly ideal for a general magic or birthday show, but if you're looking at a "backyard circus" format, they would be hard to beat.

Now, for your basic magic kidshow check out David Kaye's Seriously Silly, David Ginn's and Sammy Smith's wide selection of books & videos.

The book is basically a compilation of old Vaudeville gags and sketches. If that's the style of comedy you're looking for, it's a wonderful resource.

(Yes, as a Clown, it's definitely on MY shelf.) :o)
