Here's the just posted official spam on the third installment in Bannon's "Fractal Card Magic," which I plan to pick up.

"You display a small packet consisting of four blue-backed Aces. Each time the face-down packet is given a “twist” or a “spin,” a different Ace is seen face-up in the packet. After three “spins,” each of three Aces has turned face up—Hearts, Clubs and Diamonds. Now, you deliberately turn the Ace of Spades face-up and suddenly all four Aces are face-up.

You place the Ace of Spades face-down on your spectator’s open palm and say you will make it vanish and appear between the other three Aces. The other Aces are held in your left hand in a face-up spread. Nothing happens. At least, that’s the way it seems. However, when you turn over the “Ace of Spades,” it’s now blank—it’s vanished. And, when your audience looks back at the spread of Aces, they see that the Ace of Spades has reappeared in the midst of the other Aces.

Now you offer to make the Aces change in full view. Nothing happens. At least that’s the way it seems. But when you deal each of the four Aces face own into your spectator’s open palm, each Ace has a different back design and color—four different colored backs.

Everything is clean and examinable. No palming or difficult moves."

Sounds like his best fractal to date... a shame there is no video of it to view yet.

I think this will be the best yet.It sounds like a more motivated, improved version of Roy Waltons 'Cascade'

For those of you with Mike Rogers book... there is a similar effect in it. Been using that for a while now but just didn't associate it with Bannon's new one. I know it plays great so Bannon seems to have another winner here.

For those who have been asking:

The Dear Mr. Fantasy reprint is at the printers and I expect delivery in mid-November. This second printing is in dust-jacketed hardcover, just like the first printing. The price is the same, too.

The third of the Fractal Card Magic series, Spin Doctor, will also be available in November. Why twist when you can spin?

My website will now accept pre-orders for both of these products, if you are so inclined.

I've also added a downloadable. A self-working trick that will fool your significant other.

Thanks for your interest and support.

John

Thanks for the info John. Smile I am a big fan of your work and carry your "Duplicity" with me regularly and that's really big time for me as I'm mostly a coin guy. Smile

I look forward to your new "Spin Doctor" as it sounds very interesting. I'm sure it will be well worth having as all your work seems to be. Thanks for all the good magic and do keep up the good work all around. Smile -Mb

I like this more than Bannon's other two effects, and those are pretty good.

How difficult is this to perform for someone like, myself, who is not a card person? The effect looks wonderful, just wondering. Thanks in advance...

I believe that Royal Scam is far superior to this.

Again, just wondering how difficult this is to perform for a card-impaired magician. I love the effect, but am not gifted with card skills. Can anyone answer? Thanks in advance...

Ruppenthal, it's not very difficult at all. Can you do an Elmsley count? That is really the only major sleight required.
