I'm looking for a plam to palm chage for Roth's c/s routine. I've worked on his method for quite a while but can't seem to keep the coins from talking. Any easier methods out there? Maybe something with the edge grip?
I have a big show coming up and would love to do this routine. (and I know I'll get plenty of help from here) Kex |

For the palm to palm change, istead of going from classic palm to classic palm....i tend to go from classic palm to thumb palm. In other words..the coin at the finger tips goes into thumb palm as the coin in classic falls to the fingers. Hope this makes sense. I too cannot for the life of me to the palm to palm change as described by roth without the coins "talking" unless I'm using quarters.
You may also wanna check out MB's material. He has a great change |

That's what I was thinking about. You should try MB's crimp change. A very visual change.

I can only do Roth's with half dollars. For dollars I substitute the DeManche change.

I've been using a technique for many years that's described in Horace Bennett's
book "Downs Palm Technique" . With a coin in Downs Palm, it's quite easy to Classic Palm a coin and vice-versa. And, it's easier to keep the hand looking natural when switching coins this way. And, it can be done slowly and still look pretty good. Just need to watch the angles a little. Sorry for running on, but I like this technique a lot. Hope this helps. |

Kex-
Check out David Stones version of the Palm to Palm change. It's still CP to CP, but instead of reaching way back towards your wrist and letting the coin in CP drop, then CP'ing the previously displayed coin, Stone's version drops the CP'd coin to the ring and middle fingers first, it flips over to like a baby- finger finger palm and then the previously displayed coin can be pushed into CP by the first and secound fingers, without the coins contacting each other. I believe it can be found on Stones Basic Coin Magic Vol. I. I also believe that it's closely shown in Kaufmans Coin Magic. They're very similar. And a little different than Roths technique. Jim |

A few that iv used some are visual changes.
on new york coin magic vol one roth teaches several one handed changes. - demanche change, quick change(is that the name?) palm to palm I also noticed demanche change taugh in Coins on edge from kainoa ( known on the Café as the "crimp change" ) Kaufmans COINMAGIC - visual drop switch/change Kainoa has several edge grip changes in Coins on edge. I wouldn;t call them easier then a palm to palm. the palm to palm taught in COINMAGIC I thinkis easier and is the one I use. if I use roths method I always get talking. Curtis kam does a finger palm to finger palm change. that might work here. its in beijing coins across |

Hey guys... thanks for the prompt responses. I knew I could count on the magic Café. [g]
Dave Neighbor's, I've loved so much of your work and wondering where I can see the notes on your palm to palm change? JimmyJ, I have Coin Magic and will have to see what I find in there. Funny but I didn't even think of looking there. Kex |
