A high ranking member of the Society of American Magicians is named Richard Blowers. Think on that one for a second.
I saw a T-shirt once that read; "What were Mr. and Mrs. Galore thinking?"

When I was a kid, I went to school with an incredibly hot girl named (no lie!) Bonnie Boner. She had a brother named Harry. I swear on my Mother's grave, I am not making this up.

My name on the class roles was always "Brown, Mark" which the guys always related to an underwear stain. But my cousin Richard Brown was the one who got the really awful grief. Yes, his nickname was "Dick."
BTW, I dated a girl in college named Denise Mordick.

My last name ARCE is pronounced R-C, but most people first say ARSE... I looked at arsey (R-C) on The Urban Dictionary and it seems to be Brit definitions which are all negative but here we tend to use it in an admiring manner about someone who'll cheekily take a risk to achieve what he wants and succeeds. Example: Hot girl at bar - none of the blokes think they stand a chance - one risks it, walks boldly up and asks if she'd like a quiet drink - she agrees. His mates will say 'He's an arsey b*****d.' The asterixed word is also often a term of endearment in Australia. Destiny |

Everyone go look in your phone books. If you live in a good sized town or city with a large number of German immigrants in the past, there is probably someone named "Fick" or "Ficks" or "Ficker". Go ahead. Go look.
Justin, in New York I GUARANTEE that there will be a few. Then just think how many are running around HERE with those names, and what THEY get in school. This is a TRUE STORY: my wife and I once saw a marriage announcement in the local newspaper for a couple with the last names "Fick" and "Scheide". We both laughed and laughed at this question: were they going to take a hyphenated name? |

When I was a kid, I had a piano teacher named "Mrs. Fuchs", which is bad no matter how you mis-pronounce it.
(It's properly pronounced so as to rhyme with "pukes".)

There is a pitcher for the Orioles named Jamie "Walker"! There's a pitcher for the Rays named Grant "Balfour"...
None of the lame commentators ever make mention of these facts.
