Sure makes me wish that I had paid attention in Spanish class.
Anyway, get it while the getting's good; she seems to take them down after a while. There's a bunch of websites that let you download YouTube videos to your hard drive for later viewing, in case anyone wasn't aware. Here is one for example: http://keepvid.com/. You just paste in the youtube address given above, select "youtube" in the drop-down box, and click download (then click on one of the two download links below when they appear). The .mp4 version might be more easily viewable on a lot of computers; it's just an 'avi' file (rename it to something.avi if your computer doesn't like it, and you may need a codec). |

Cool, a new videocito! Some great ideas in this one! I read in a thread over on blogdemagia that she couldn't register here because her hotmail email address was "banned or something". I'm guessing that all hotmail addresses are blocked by the café by default.
Just as well because if she made a post here then she would just be heckled to death by drooling adoring fans. (Of which I'm one, of course.) There has been some magic/Spanish discussions here in the past. I have studied it for a while now but I have yet to learn all the required expressions to perform, such as suit names an whatnot. I was planning to devote a page in my notebook to a mini dictionary so that I could quickly brush up on the required words in case I needed to. (I learn them and then forget them again for lack of use). I need to get around to doing that.

If she still wants to join it's pretty easy to get an email address that isn't banned here...anyone that has a domain name can basically do it trivially. If you're in touch with her at all, I'd offer one up (doesn't cost me anything, can do it in about 2 minutes and just forward it to her real e-mail address). |

Yea, my impression was that she didn't understand what the error message in English was about exactly. I'm sure she will figure it out if she is really interested. Quite frankly I think she will benefit more from participating in the Spanish speaking web fora than from this one. Spain is the country in Europe with the lowest number of English speakers.
I'm not in contact with her. I just happened upon that other forum thread after following a link from a link from this one. She won a competition over at that other site and I was looking to see if her winning video was still available there. Which it wasn't.

Does Claudia's style remind anyone else of Slydini? I realized it particularly in this latest video.

When I first saw the video (since removed from her page) with the blowing of bubbles and producing coins from them that's what struck me about her performance overall. It just felt like there were elements of a Slydini performance at work. Her body language and expressions just reminded me of video performances I've seen of Slydini. I didn't say anything in the other thread thinking comparing her to Slydini might make me look crazy! LOL But I do agree sir, I noticed it too... |

I think her stuff has a Slydini feel - a bit toned down, but it's there

Someone in the previously mentioned Spanish magic blog thread also made a Slydini comparison.
Me, I'm not sure I would draw that comparison exactly, but she certainly is better than most other "YouTube kids" when it comes to misdirection. A lot better in fact. Which makes me think that she has maybe had a teacher and not just a stack of DVDs. But who knows. Besides being talented, it doesn't hurt to be young, female and beautiful. She can go far, this one.

Mud, I spoke with Claudia and yes, she has not been able to join here. She said she'd tried with hotmail (doesn't work as we know) and another called hispavista. I'm not sure if that's a free account or not. She asked if she could use an aol address, I said I wasn't sure, so I think she will try that. If it doesn't work, I told her there was someone here who would furnish her with an address. I'll let you know. Scott

Yep, AOL is banned. As a non AOL user, the notice at the top of the forum list just went straight past me!

I spoke with her today and she was nice enough to give me a sneak peak at an updated version of the video where she blows bubbles and they turn into coins. She's revamped the routine and it looks REALLY good (I believe she will be posting it sometime soon so watch for it!). Really creative that one...
