Mmmmm... see the neighboring post from Dr. S about another psychics 'useful' visions of an abused child.
This has the feeling of a self promoting press release- a story about child abuse that essentially ends with... "and Patrick will be appearing at a town near you soon!" I note from the photo that no inner voices warned him against that ill-advised blonde dye-job

Whether or not this information was coming from dead people surely this sort of thing shouldn't be announced to a pub full of strangers for entertainment?

I agree not for entertainment but a big fee is ok.

An earlier story from the same paper gives telling information:
yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk Apparently the girls friend had already reported abuse to her parents, but they didn't believe her. When the psychic "backed her up" they then went to the police. This is very sad. Curious that the more recent story in the Yorkshire Evening Post ignores the earlier evidence, but simply gives a promotional spot to the "psychic". Browsing the web site gives some indication of the Post's journalistic standards. John

I don't have a transcript, but I've heard that Hutchinson uses the abuse theme as a standard part of his act. It looks like this time he scored a hit he could play up in the media.

I saw a psychic in a hotel once who used the line " who in your family lost the child?"
The almost completely female audience gasped. Then in the silence the girl managed to find an aunty. They were all taken in by this line. Losing a child and sex abuse is a lot more common than you think. Most families have one or the other somewhere in the mix. |

I read a study once which suggested 48% of girls are molested by family, relatives or family friends so it is horribly prevalent - and to use it as entertainment is unforgivable.
To profit from the girl having to relive that in front of a pub audience is shameful. Destiny |

Someone in the audience should have said to this guy "I see.... a hairdresser... she's... doing something horrible.... she's moving toward your head with a bottle of hair dye... No! Please stop it!"

It could be, Athos, but I see no basis for that opinion compared to others. I'd be curious if you have any actual evidence to back it up, it's easy to make a statement like yours without anything to back it up, it's another thing entirely to back it up, where do you stand? That is a serious question, I know it doesn't read that way.
Destiny's post said it best. Based on the people I know, it's actually higher than 50% but I can see only 50% owning up to it. It's an easy hit, it really is, but to actually take it... Well, my view on readings has changed a lot in the last few years but a guy like this makes me want to change it back. |
