Is Dan Summers a builder of this illusion or he just makes the advertising? I know the only builder of the Ladder Levi is Blaney himself. Also, I heard there is a waiting list for the future buyers. How long one must wait to buy this illusion?

Want to see the master do this live, come to this years TAOM in Ft. Worth over labor day weekend. This year our convention honors our own fellow Texas Walt Zaney Blaney and the maestro will perform his levi live for us all.

Easily one of the most genius concepts in magic history... even to this day nothing has compared in my opinion. Much like mentalism, to clean to be a trick.

Great video!

Thanks for sharing.

This has always been one of my favourite illusion all these years, if only I can afford it.

It's so ingenius that even though it seems like I understood it, there's still so many incredible details that just seem so impossible.

Did I mention that I love this illusion before?

Cheers,

I agree. It is a great illusion and I dream of owning one someday. If I remembe right, it costs about $10k, but it is high on my priority list as soon as I can think of a way to pay for it Smile

Thanks,
Richard

It is my understanding that Dan has begun building them for Walter. According to Dan, they are very labor intensive to build following Walter's instructions, mostly due to the hand painting, as he could not convince Walter to let him laminate or powder coat anything.

I imagine that this would be why there is a waiting list of people getting them. I believe that in the past Walter only made 6 or so a year, because of the process. I have no idea if Dan can produce any more than that, as he commented that he had no idea going in just how time and labor intensive they are to make.

That's all I know!

Oh, and here is a YouTube link to the video, courtesy of Timothy Drake:

Question about painting. I am not really familiar with powder coat. Is that a quicker way to paint like spraypainting or something?
Thanks,

GREAT. The first time I saw Walter do this I was in the front row and the footlights masked the base and I thought it was done on the stage itself.

Another time we were in The Netherlands and the woman he go up to help was a local newspaper writer and in the middle of the routine she sat up and looked back, but Walter kept command, grabbed her shoulder and put her back in her place, saying something like "If you fall you could be seriously injured."
