Wow that's a cool party vest. And with the lights, that is fantastic. I wish there were other colors to choose from aside from lavender blue.
The effect isn't that clear to me. Does it start with a white vest, then a printed black and white cake on it , then a colored cake, then with lights? LeeAlex, where are you? Please post a video soon!

Yeah the weak dollar is not going to help sales in Topeka.
Lou I agree with you. What do those pictures mean? If I'm buying a $400 waistcoat I'd like a little video action. At what price does a vest become a waistcoat? |

The LED lights are compatible with the gold D'Lites - so plenty of fun to be had there. The vest is in fact more of a purple colour than lavendar - it just looks like that in the pictures! I wanted a real contrast colour so that the cake shows up to its best when coloured. The other accessories (confetti stars etc.) are the four main colours. Of course the chocolate cake is covered in lashings of pink icing! The problem I had with colours is trying to keep neutral for both sexes - I am sure if you were doing a boy's party you don't want to hear screams of "Ugh! That's a girl's cake!" and vice versa! I am busy preparing for the convention at the beginning of July in Germany, but a short video demonstration will be up in a couple of days. When does a vest become a waistcoat - when it crosses the Atlantic! |

I have now managed to get my web guy to place the video on my site. All is going to schedule and the first waistcoats will be going out to wholesalers on Monday, so the dealers should have these within a week to ten days. The offer for free shipping is still on until 15th of this month direct from my site. Thank you to all who have sent mails and PMs about the "Happy Birthday Waistcoat". |

Exactly what I mean,...will the vest be available without the lights and the electronics.
Just the vest itself...with the colorful cake finale. (No wires) Thanks Wanlu

Wanlu,
You can remove the LED lights from the vest (this is necessary for dry-cleaning of the vest), so you have the option of performing this without the electrics inside, however this really is the high point of the effect and totally unexpected. If you remove the lights I feel you would be missing a great part of the effect. Do you have a specific reason why you do not wish for the lights? Recently this item was launched at the convention of the Magic Circle in Germany and the reactions from magicians of both sexes, and those who already own the Colour Change Waistcoat were great - smiles, laughs, gasps etc. and yet the mechanics is simple. The lights were added as a logical step in the changes. At the end of the day everyone knows it is electric, but it is something very attractive and appealing which adds a different dimension to an item of clothing. A funny reaction is also received when you ask someone to "blow out" the candles - of course you just have to turn the switch off! |

Hi Lee Alex,
Thanks for the reply...I perform usually in daylight/bright lights settings and the effect won't actually show. Plus, I'm guessing the wires might be difficult to maintain when having the vest dry cleaned... In any case, I think the vest looks great and I certainly will get one for my act soon. Thanks Wanlu

Hi Wanlu,
The lights are actually a lot brighter in real life than what is reflected on the film. The difference bewteen the candles being lit, and not lit is very vivid. The LEDS are extremely bright. The light panels are easily removed and installed in the vest (which has been specially adapted from the original design of the Color Change Waistcoat) and to remove takes a few seconds, to replace takes a couple of minutes /the LEDs must line up of course with the laser cut holes in the candles). You have the choice to use the lgihts or not, but I would seriously recommend that the lights not be missed out from this routine. Often before a birthday cake is bought into a room the lights are lowered also. If you confer with your party host you can perform this before the real cake is bought into the room and have the lights turned down when you require during the effect (but again this is not really necessary as the LEDs do shine!). As a side note the gold lights used are compatible with the gold D'Lite (same color) so plenty of room for by play and effect there. |

Thanks Lee
Another great item...I'll get one soon. BTW, I used my vest in TV yesterday...just one quick change. It made the act more interesting I noticed however that I did not secure the bottom gimmick well but the coat covered it. I was planning on a 2nd change but could not find the right moment again http://wanlu99.multiply.com/video/item/4......_PREVIEW Wanlu

Wanlu,
I thought that you had sold your Color Change Vest - soon after you purchased this you placed an advert for sale here on the Café? Thank you for sharing the clip with us and I look forward to seeing the final airing when this comes out. You have plenty of cover with the Jam illusion to make the change, but may I suggest thast you emphasise the colour before the change. I did not understand all the clip of course, but I did catch "costume change" said by the presenter. Well done! |

Hi Lee,
I had no reaction during the first couple of times I used it in my gigs because I did not use it as a main feature in my act, just a casual change and nobody seemed to notice so I wanted to sell it... But when I started putting emphasis on the colors...the reaction was wild everytime I use it In fact...it bacame a running gag in the whole act from the very beginning of my act til the end and the reaction was really cooool!!! No way I'm selling it...in fact, I'll get the new version soon. As for the TV gig, I only made a single costume change but wanted really to do one more but had no chance I was worried about the cameras I have another TV guesting and I'll try the other set of colors this time... Thanks Lee Wanlu
