The way I see it, I would have paid over night delivery anyway if it had been offered.
The clip shift has been a thorn in my side for a long, long time. I normally can figure out most things. When I first had it described to me some time ago, I was pretty sure I knew what was happening. But when I tried it I thought "No way!" Then I saw a video of it later and thought "OK. Way." Now anyone who's been at this awhile knows what the move is basically but good luck figuring out the exact technique. The speed didn't bother me - speed comes with practice - as much as the silence and neatness. That's why I was so happy when Trilogy came out. I thought the clip shift was going to be taught in the Queens routine. It wasn't. So now finally I can see what it was that I've been missing in this infuriating sleight. |

Is this for beginners like me (with a little practice ?) or should I wait a year more ;-) ??

Well, I'm still waiting for mine to show up. Its not like I waited a long time to order either. It was within minutes of launch. Here it is, almost a week later and no DVD. Some got it within a few days and I'm left in the dark wondering if mine has even shipped yet. Saying that I am annoyed and unimpressed at this point is putting it mildly.

Keep in mind that both Kent and I got our DVD's directly from Chad Nelson so when we say we got ours already, don't figure us into the equation.
Chad, Dan and Dave are all stand up people / business people and they are not in the market to rip anyone off. It would completely undermine everything they have worked so hard for. After all, is it really that uncommon for a shipment to take 1 week? Best, Dorian Rhodell |

I will admit that I might be a bit impatient but that comes from being burned in the past from a highly respected place. This is my first time ordering directly from dananddave.com and I think its ok for me to be a touch weary. Also, I didn't know that some had gotten theirs directly from Chad and that changes things to me. I didn't get a paypal confirmation, but I used a good ole VISA and I did get that confirmation.
I really wasn't trying to imply that I thought they would take my money and forget about me. I just don't like the fact that I have no idea if it will show up tomorrow or in another week. After all, they did start shipping a whole new batch today. I am very used to getting a shipping notice/tracking number of some sorts and that added to my frustration. Anyway, I will apologize and eat crow now. You won't hear me mention this again. |

I got my copy yesterday This move is EVIL!!!! I can not explain how bad this will fool laymen. I LOVE IT! And the 26 shift is just plain crazy. I think it will take me near a month to get the move down.

I don't often leave reviews here, but this DVD was so great that I had to speak my mind.
I was lucky enough to get my copy of "Surfaced" by Chad Nelson in the mail today! My first impression of the DVD was really great because the DVD was nicely produced and even came with a small booklet that has notes from Chad's journal during the developmental phase of this fantastical move he engineered called "The Clip Shift." It was very refreshing to watch actual real life performances instead of boring studio environments with little or no people at all during the demonstrations of the routines. I am convinced that this material will fry the public because Chad did it in the trenches in situations we often find ourselves in. I feel I received more than what I was expecting! Amazing production value, a nice booklet on the Clip Shift, real life performances in Hollywood, and crystal clear explanations are now the new standard because of Chad! I eagerly await what Chad will release in the future!!! I now have a new card control, a new color change, and new presentation ideas to freshen up my card magic! Rating: 10/10 |

I don't think this is one for beginners especially if you are broke. I foresee a lot of practice getting this one smooth and silent but it will be worth it. The dribble control has me drooling. I also got a chuckle out the signature and the tricycle.

The "Clip Shift" takes some practice, but it's well worth the time because this is a real fooler!
Chad Nelson has given us a tool to change the face of card magic forever! |

Sigh. I hate being right all the time. I've received Surfaced this morning but not the one I ordered from D and D on July 1. I'm not really surprised since the lack of activity in this topic tells me I'm not the only one.
I haven't been able to view the DVD but it does come with a booklet so here's just a few quick observations. I now see why many who tried to duplicate this move from performance videos like Trilogy failed and were warned they would fail. The "clip" in clip shift makes all the difference. You don't want to overlook that detail. It won't work without it. I got it semi-workable now. I believe there's also a 26-card shift. If that uses a similar clip shift technique, then it might be better to start there. A half deck is easier to control than one flimsy card and you can wrap the deck halves with rubber bands for additional support. But for all I know Chad mentions that in the DVD. Looking forward to watching it. Believe I'll take an early lunch today. P.S. Chad Nelson has a bizarre signature. |

P.S. It's a very good move but I really don't see it changing the face of card magic forever.

The "Clip Shift" is a great utility move. It will take allot of practice ( Lenart Green could do it right away, I'm sure ).
In order to change the face of card magic, it would have to be a move that would be incorportaed into the mainstream. That isn't going to happen. Old School guys won't do it because what they do works just fine for them. Younger guys that are move monkey's will enjoy it an will come up with routines using the shift. I enjoyed the DVD as I like to watch talented people taking the art serious. Chad is one of those people.
