Jim Gerrish has made a revision on the old Stocks of Zanzibar escape (the original dates back to the 1940's and was published in Percy Abbott's 1955 "Escapes" book). No, his revision is not available as plans on my site (just yet!), but I thought you might like to see Wiz Kid Qua-Fiki build one from scratch. He is the Wiz Kids' Escape Artist and this is his most ambitious woodshop project to date. He is not yet allowed to use the heavy-duty sawing equipment, so adults helped cut out some of the pieces for him, but he is definitely in charge of making sure they fit together correctly since he will be the one escaping from the stocks later this summer. More photos will be added as work on the project continues, so check back again if you are interested in seeing the finished project.

The kid's doing a great job! Stocks of Zanzibar was the first illusion(ette) I ever bought.

Great job, I hope it is easier to build than the thin base drum illusion I'm building.
