Hello All,
I went to Walgreens earlier tonight and was pleasently surprised to find a wide array of coin purses for 2-3$ each. They were leather and they all looked quite nice. Not sure if it was just this one Walgreens, but worth checking out! Adam |

Haha. I'm always nervous before shopping for a coin purse. Were these similar to the Goshman purses?? I should stop bringing threads back from the dead

It is not really dead. Dead is bring back a thread from 5 years ago! And I have seen that a few times. I am interested myself in this whole coin purse thing from Walgreens. If possible, can someone provide a picture of the style being sold?

Usually the price is right but they are HUGE!!!!! Have 2 zippers or a bunch of extras... Hardly anyone makes a simple coin purse. I'm working on a couple designs but have not been completely happy with anything yet.

I'm now officially happy. I will be trying samples of 2 different designs.
One is a small coin purse. The other is a "standup purse" which can remain standing up while it's open. I hope to have some pix in a week or two. I also might be making them out of elk hide which should develop a nice "patina" over time.

Frank,
I normally carry three different coin sets on me at all times..... it would be so cool if someone could make a small purse that could open three ways so only one set of coins would come out at a time. Mark |

Mark you took the words right out of my mouth, I think a purse with multiple chambers would get my vote. Although I would like to see the regular coin purse as well.

I have a few of the little change bags from Walgreens. While they all don't have separate sections, some do. One was wide enough for me to add my own dividers. I used pieces of Styrofoam to separate my different coin sets in the one little bag.
The bags I’ve found were in the section with envelopes and pens one time and then they were moved to the toy section, so it pays to hunt around. I found a black leather drawstring bag for only $3.00 that can accommodate all five of my chop cup balls plus a billiard ball. Not bad for three bucks!

I have recently been making my coin purses myself. they arnt leather but look really good and are really portable. Mark, Try going to walmart and going to the video section. Find the camera cases and memory card cases. there are a few cases that are small and can carry at least 8 silver dollars. I also have been enjoying my squeeze pouch that I got at the dollar store. I keep a cin and a whistle in it for one of my routines. You can go to staples and there is an aisle that has coin purses.

They had them in an aisle across from candy, just a box of them. Some were very simple, some more complex with a change bag type clasp. They were two dollars...why I didn't buy any...who knows.

Mark Tirone,
At the present time I am using a small squeeze coin holder with a home made divider inside for my three routines. they fit a little to tight but it works. Mark |

If you have a chinatown section of your city, you can usually find these in the little gift shops quite easily. I've noticed there's usually a choice between leather and embroidered cloth ones, I've actually been using the embroidered ones because they're colorful/exotic/little kids ohh and ahh.

They're not yet. I have the pattern that I like and the frames that I like.
Now putting the two together into a prototype. The elk is interesting because it gets dirty and over time should look pretty cool. Black and brown will also be avialable. if you send me an email from my website I'll add your name to the stand-up purse lovers group so you know when they are available. or sing up on my mailing list also on my homepage.
