Here is the link to the article about the death of Larry Harmon, aka Bozo

The link above shows several other greats who passed on recently, including Suzanne Pleshette from the original Bob Newhart show and Dick Martin of Laugh-In fame.

I was also surprised to find that the man who played Monk's psychiatrist also passed away. Bet that set's Monk back in for many more years of therapy!

Chicago's Bozo, Bob Bell, has been gone since 1997 -- he retired in 1984 after playing the role on WGN-TV's Bozo's Circus for 24 years. He was inducted into the International Clown Hall of Fame in 1996. He was succeeded on the show by Joey D'Auria, who played Bozo for 17 years until the show was canceled in 2001.

To generations of Chicagoans, Bell was the one true Bozo.

Not to be nostalgic, but yea Bozo was Bob Bell to me. Not saying better, only saying to me. I guess what I mean to say is Bob Bell was Bozo to me LOL.

Gotta say Joey got a raw deal. The FCC started to regulate what he had to do as far as programing, and they got away from what made the show work in the first place. Many people blame him as he could not fill ol Bob's shoes, but it was not his fault. They made him do different things than made the show a great watch for adults and for kids.

We had a Bozo here in Providence for a short while. He was great, spontanious and funny. I remember one bit where he apologized for sounding funny because he said he had a cold in his nose; "And with a nose like mine, that's serious!" They changed him after a few months and I didn't like the new guy so much! Then the show got cancelled.
"There's no time to lose," I heard her say.
"Catch your dreams before they slip away."
"Dying all the time, lose your dreams and you could lose your mind.
Ain't life unkind?"

I heard about Bozo. I think I met him when I was about 6 yrs old.

I didn't even know Suzanne Pleshette died in January until now.
