Other than the last two replies, this is an 18 year old thread. Although, the Reverse Svengali deck did make a small surge of a comeback a year or two ago when Magick Balay performed a couple “magician foolers” on Kozmo’s “Reel Magic” “Tuesday Night Tricks” series. Before that, I didn’t realize the Reverse Svengali deck even existed but I made up two of them and find them useful from time to time. It is certainly a hidden gem well worth looking into and exploring its uses.

I really liked the Reverse Svengali Deck idea on the Magick Balay Penguin Live Lecture (The Reel Magic TNT episode has two different versions) and also stumbled upon another great idea on the Brent Braun Penguin Live lecture. Steven's was selling the Reverse Svengali Decks, or you can make two for the price of one (PM me and I'll tell you how I did it, if you're interested). I liked the idea that you can in-the-hands riffle shuffle face up, it looks very convincing!

This thread ages well --- I also didn't know about reverse Svengali until Magik Bslay demo'd a couple of great effects.

I now have 2 of these decks I use from time to time.

I purchased an effect by Wayne Dobson called, I believe, ”celebrity deck” many years ago and it used a reverse Svengali.
Great trick that elicits gasps from the spectators.

I first read about a 'Reverse Svengali' after buying 'McComb's Magic 25 Years Wiser' by Billy McComb many years ago. He describes its origin on page 79. I actually made a couple a few years back. I like it
