With the new one coming out this week, I have been thinking about it. Any of you guys, and/or girls, have one? What are the problems you face? What size did you get? Did you get the support plan?
any info.... I trust all I hear at the Café...

Had one for over a year. I am not really a gsdget freak, but I love the phone. It is simple to check e-mail, get weather forecasts, etc. on the phone. Although not strictly GPS, it also provides pretty good directions.
The G3 is supposed to be faster, cheaper, and better. You do have to purchase a data plan with the phone(s), however, so figure that into the cost of service.

Thanks for the review, I already have a blackberry plan with at&t and they said if I bought the phone, I could adapt the phone to my plan.
any one have music on there iphone? how is it? as for the email, I have heard that, when forwarding, you are unable to change anything in the message before forwarding it. is this true? how is the battery life?

"Visual Voicemail" is one of the coolest features of the iPhone, allowing you to see who has left voicemail and check it in whatever order you wish, rather than stepping through them one at a time. I can't speak to the forwarding issue, because I have never forwarded a voicemail.
Music on the iPhone is just like music on an iPod, but not all iPod accessories provide "full-featured" operation with the iPhone. One slightly annoying thing about the iPhone is the fact that the earbud jack does not work with all earbuds. Because it is designed for both phone and stereo music, it is longer that the standard phone jack, so some earbuds/headsets don't go in deep enough to make proper contact. I have a 16G, and my wife has an 8G. Interestingly, my batttery seems to last longer, but I think it's because she is on hers much more than she realizes. I usually have to charge mine once a week or less. Of course, it charges while on the car adapter, so that might skew my numbers somewhat. My opinion - BUY IT! It's the coolest thing to come out in quite a while, and definitely lives up to the hype.

Yeah, I thought that if I bought it, my friend could book me for a show-pay a dollar, do the iphone tricks and I could write the phone off in taxes.

I only bought my iPhone about 4 months ago. Bought a refurbed one for $200, and couldn't turn it down. I probably won't upgrade anytime soon. One thing is to double check and make sure you have good 3G coverage in your area. My area is a bit spotty. I'm actually more excited about the app store that is supposed to launch the same day I think. THAT will make me want a 16 gig instead of my 8. I do agree that it is the best invention since fire.

The other day a guy was pumping for the new Instinct while bashing the iphone. He proudly showed me his new phone and I said, "So why does it 'look' like an iphone?"
I have a cheap old phone that never drops calls and always has coverage, because of this I won't trade up until it goes kaput. I'm not a gadget type. I even turn off voice mail & text messaging on my mobile phone. Sadly, tinnitus prevents me from using earphones of any kind.

The headphone jack problem of the original iPhone should be somewhat allayed by the new iPhone 3G. The jack is now "flush" with the top of the device, rather than recessed like the original model.
I don't have an iPhone yet, but I can see myself picking up one of the new models in the not-too-distant future.

I hear Pandora is going to be a standard feature. It's the coolest web music ever.
