Hi guys,
Not sure why, but the old dove pan (15-25 years old, and not an expensive one) has stopped clicking the load into place by merely settling the top on to the base. (It used to work like butter) Now I'm not sure if all the clips are going to "click" or if one will get hung up. I also have to "push down" on the top to get it to click into the bottom (used to happen via its own weight) Does anyone know of anyone in the Los Angeles area who could look at or troubleshoot this thing, or, perhaps you think I could fix it myslef? I've been looking at the clips and don't have the reason/solution yet. Thanks |

Don't know if this will work or not, but mine did something similar to what you described....when I checked out the clips, I discovered one had become a little loose and instead of pointing straight up, it sort of went to one side.....I straightened it up and made sure it was not bent in too much, and it worked fine. I do check it every time before I use it to make sure the clips are straight up and not at an angle, and have not had any other problem with it.

As they get old they get bent in a bit too much and sometimes you need to pull them back out a bit.

MINE ALSO GOT LOOSE AT THE CLIPS. A SMALL PIECE OF DUCT TAPE CCURED IT TO KEEP THEM STRAIGHT UP. ALSO A SMALL DAP OF JB WELD WORKS WONDERS.

A buildup of too much junk in the bottom will cause the "triggers" to failn by not allowing the load pan to fully seat.
Make sure everything is clean on the bottom, and sides of the outter pan and the load pan.
